My third gear is scratching when i down shift is it the clutch or i need syncronizers i have in a stage 3 xtd performance clutch and its only when i down shift from 4th into 3rd the third scratch so can u guys give me your views as to what u think the problems is thank you

This topic has been discussed upon before, but it could be your synchros but also have you changed your tranny fluid too?

Yeah, its your synchros. Just change your gear oil and see if the same thing happens. Get the good stuff and none of that cheap stuff.

I had the same problem, switched out to redline full synthetic 75w90 and have'nt had any more problems... (took a few days for the scratch/grind to go away)

I'm sure royal purple will be okay, if you don't want to wait for the shippment or if there aren't any local stores that carry them. Royal purple is popping up all over the place now.

2.3 quarts, and I'm planning on using ACDelco synthetic tranny fluid: friction modified
But some other members have used Pennzoil Synchromesh tranny fluid.
