Here we go. I have had my Teal 1994 Celica for over a year now and bought it for the sole purpose to swap. I then purchased my ST205 front clip (which is a WRC, they did not tell me this) and then waited for over 6 months to start the swap. I waited so long because I was collecting parts and what not. But on Friday I finally got the bug and began. I pulled the engine out of the 94' and got the engine bay nice and clean with my pressure washer/degreaser. Then on Sunday I pulled the engine out of the clip and got everything organizing. Now I am going to start disassemble the 3SGTE and get ready to clean, sandblast, gaskets, etc. Also, I was reading about the wiring and decided to have dr_tweak do it because I don't like wiring and I am OCD when it comes to clean, so I hope he does a great job. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions, I have been searching this forum looking to find everything I can about the swap. Also, this is my 2nd 5SFE and 5th 3SGTE pull!
Let me know if you guys would like me to keep posting my progress! Here are some pictures of what I did this weekend. This post has been edited by PhilipK: Apr 15, 2008 - 9:24 AM |

Can't wait to see when you're all finished and have her up and runnin'! Keep us updated.
Also, don't worry about Dr. Tweak, he does a fantastic job and does tons and tons of wiring exclusive to not only 6gc but other forum sites too. |

QUOTE(black13 @ Apr 15, 2008 - 1:31 AM) hmm like the clean look of your engine bay. But from where and how much did the clip come for if you don't mind me asking. I ordered it through a company on eBay that had very good ratings. They were a middle man that sold for Mun Lee Auto, which is where the clip came from. After it was all said and done it came out to around $3500. I had to take care of the import fees which consisted of Est Duty, Brokerage/Entry Service, Surety Bond Premium, Ocean Freight, etc. This was my first time importing anything and was a great experience none the less. But if I did it again I would buy from another company. Let me know if you have more questions! |

Sounds like a reasonable price. And you mentioned you needed to order some extra parts, did the clip not come with everything needed or where these just added on accessories for performance?
You just waiting on the wiring now? And Thanks for the info |

There where approx. 2500 made and the differences are:
Anti Lag System Water Injection Intercooler Spray Bar Taller Spoiler for aerodynamics The first three are disabled by factory, so I am stuck with a bunch of stuff that does not work! Also, I have heard that the WRC CT20b exhaust turbine is steel, but after checking it out it is ceramic. The engine does not have anymore power then a regular ST205 engine. the st205 wrc is no different other than the parts above, all of which dont work.
can be made to work though, they had to make the 2500 homoglobins to get it in the WRC championship as for power some gt4's made slightly more power as some got imported with blitz access ecu's but realy, that means nothing in the big scheme of things. with the st205 they vary massive in power, no 2 cars with the same mods will get the same amount, ive seen standard gt4's make more power than those with exhaust and filter, yet i gained massive bhp through just the 2. bizzare. lucky or you arnt with the st205 engine. as for the turbos, import (japanese ) st205 cars usually came with a ceramic turbine, where the uk model and alike usually had a steel one. -------------------- 1994 ST-205 JDM GTFour... fmic conversion finshed, project GT500 is underway

QUOTE(lagos @ Apr 14, 2008 - 8:26 AM) mmm st205. Btw, st205 wiring is very simple. Its only about 4-5 wires that need to be changed. You need to change the location of 3 wires on the inside of the car, repin one wire on plug IJ1 , add on 9 wires to EJ1, and extend the harness 28-30". Time consuming, but pretty simple. Whatever you do, don't pay $400 for a converted ST205 harness.... I would do it for half. -Corey This post has been edited by Silver94CelicaOwner: Apr 25, 2008 - 7:19 PM -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

You can make them work, theyre not just decoratives the water injection could be a good one, as it lowers the temperatures, but do NOT take the anti-lag system in use Or do it, if you can afford engineswaps every 15k miles? -------------------- |
