I heard that Gen 2 is a lot easier to install than Gen 3,, ?? Now I'm wandering which one to get and install.. Is there really that much difference?

There is a big difference in how easy each engine is to install. I've heard from some very knowledgable people that the ST185 3S-GTE installation is about half as much work as a ST205 3S-GTE installation. And I'd also assume that the ST185 would be easier than the ST165, simply because it's been done by lots of people, so help would be easier to find.

Now if you're talking about a 2nd generation 3S-GTE from an MR2 Turbo, then it's a lot more work than a ST185 3S-GTE installation.

"easiest" is gen 2, but a third is not much more... I think its just more wiring.... I dont think a gen 1 has been done or would even be worth it. Most clip companies dont even source those.
