Whats up guys, i have been slowly getting my car back on its feet as before, and i put my wheels on today at discount tire co. BUT WAIT... WHATS THIS LIQUID??!IPB Image

IPB Image

OH $#!T frown.gif coolant leak. (water pump gushing) RIGHT BEFORE IM READY TO TAKE IT TO TWEAK... FIGURES...rolleyes.gif

since it only leaks when the car is running, im thinking seal? I REALLY dont want to have to tow BOTH celicas to ga, but i really dont feel like taking the belts off, jacking up the engine, taking the pump off, RETURNING IT TO AUTOZONE, and putting it back. engine coming out anyway in a month or so, so i guess i need to get started early eh?

What do you guys think?

Man Matt - I feel for you.
Just take it as a sign like someone else said and just tow them both on a bigger trailer - still one truck.

IDK - But I know they are available. Wouldn't Tweak know seeing as how everybody gets their stuff towed to him?

im going to go ahead and get this water pump business sorted out. its gotta be a gasket beign that its a new pump and it only gushes when motor running (pressure causing it?)

Sounds right but alot of the times Autozone or w/e will mix up the 5s and 3s ones [happened to me twice around 10years apart] cause the look so similar but the teeth are different on the gears. My old mech [back when I had one rolleyes.gif ] said something about the wrong one running faster in the wrong application which would lead me to believe the wheel was a smaller diameter. I've seen the difference in the teeth and it's not overly noticeable unless you know what you're looking for.
I seriously doubt any of this would cause your leak but just something to look out for. Be smart and change it and the timing belt out again or you may button up the motor to find the problem still there.
