Cant go wrong with a nifty fifty! That was my first lens. I use my 17-40 f4L the most now, then my 100mm macro prime.

i'm about to pick up a 90mm macro prime today, i'll post the brand and info later, but i did some test pics with it yesterday and it was nice. $98 and it's a f2.8! i can't wait. i think it's a tamron.

oh, and what's the deal with these "L" series lenses? what's different about them aside from the extra $1k?

L is luxury. They are better constructed with better glass. They help with color, sharpness and vignetting.

Here are some of my favorites so far from my Photography class. This is with a crappy scanner, I plan on rescanning them at my school with a better one, but until then, here are these:

I believe the top photo was taken with Kodak TMAX 400 film, and the last two were taken with Fuji Neopan 400. I've noticed that the Fuji film is more grainy. I love how old the second photo looks.

I liked going and shooting for my B&W film class but hated the dark room. I much prefer digital dark room.

I appreciate any comments on the pictures themselves as well. I'm trying to get some great shots.

The pics are nice but the site automaticly reduces the size
and really makes stuff look jagged and odd unless you click to
view. I have found 952 X ? to be the largest to view without
reduction.

I was the backup photographer for a wedding today. Pretty good learning
experience, but I am not really set up for portrait stuff.

replaced the 18-200 non VC today with the Tamron 18-270mm/3.5-6.3 VC today, i tell you, the vibration compensation on this thing is SICK! you physically have to move from your subject point to get any kind of movement, even at 270! I'll post some pics from it soon.
