I really cant see myself swapping a 3sgte. Im a noob. . Yes, its disappointing. i cant see myself doing calculations and all that jazz. after the 3sge, i have heard tranny can go out on you. after 3sgte, you have to worry bout the a/c, the cold weather, there is a sticky bout how to fix. (how bout that, i have been reading, and researching ) I would love to have a turbo, but if im not doing the swap, then no. I rather buy a factory turbo (new car)..... -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I hardly log in anymore, last login Today Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOL
If you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. Im alive, better post your questions in the thread below, maybe I log back in 2grfe Swapped... Why I chose the 2GR, before you ask read here... A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within. @llamaraxing in Instagram is the best way to find me. I hardly log here anymore. |

depends on is it worth it to you.
i don't regret dumping money in my car because I enjoy it. if i didn't spend it on my car who knows where id spend it, junk? drugs? lol who knows. i can honestly say my car 100% daily drivable except its a little loud. i've driven it in snow with 330 whp that was scary but i did it lol. but listen to Lagos, if you dont do the work then dont expect it to all go as planned. so many times ive had problems that i had to figure out on my own. i know my car at the back of my hand, but if i didn't i wouldn't know where to start. -------------------- |

Unfortunantly, im still new to the tuner scene... Though I have gathered a lot of information from this site... as well as fixed a lot of problems on the celica with help from this site and my haynes manual, I know that attempting to complete the swap myself would be the end of running existence for my car.....
It's not that I don't believe I will have problems after the swap... The point lagos made about taking a 90's junk yard engine from japan and praying that it will hold up for the 15-20k miles I put on the car yearly seems like im asking for too much... Were all on this site for one reason.. cuz we love our celicas!!! I just want to make sure that my $8k is going to the right places... I have never seen, nor experienced a 3sgte or 5sfte in person.... thats why I ask for advice from those who have... From what im gathering.... everybody is saying hell yea its worth it... I just need to be ready for all the **** thats gonna go down afterwards.... thats why I ask for setup opinions...What is the best way to do this right (or as right as possible) the first time |
