Could a bad/slipping timing belt cause a spark plug to shoot out?

yeah go like a quarter turn after its snug.
hope your head isnt ruined that would suck. my buddy shot a plug into his hood on his neon. we managed to get a new one in there but lets just say thats the last plug that cylinder will ever see. -------------------- |

i got it back in, its snug now, if it comes out again i guess i have a bigger problem

IIRC the BGB calls for 13ftlbs. on the spark plugs.
the next time you install fresh plugs, once you tighten them hand tight, turn it the next 1/2 or so turn nice and slowly, you should be able to feel the washer "seat" against the head, once it does, your good. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Ok, plug came out again and it looks like it stripped the threads on the block, what part do i need to replace to fix this?

what tools should i need?
what parts need to be removed? what if anything will need to be resealed? if anyone knows i would appreciate it, trying to find the link to the bgb, but i forget where it is located. |

ive been trying to research this since i have never done it. looks like im going to have to remove the cams and everything. can anyone point me in the right direction? the bgb link i think i need on celicatech is dead and i would love to do this myself.
so i know ill need a new head gasket, and probobly some sealant for the valve cover, my timing belt needs replaced so i guess this would be a good time to do it as well? i saw a walkthrough for that already. im surprised i couldnt find more information on the head; seeing as how the head gasket is replaced by a lot of the turbo setups.
