well the auto tranny from a GT would work, but idk about reliability.
there are stronger ones out there i believe any V6 tranny would bolt up to the 3s please correct me if im wrong -------------------- QUOTE "And, as always, your friendship, help, and dedication to the advancement of Texas Celica dominance is GREATLY appreciated. Yeah, dont even waste your time with it. It cant hold the power of the 3s at all.

Unless you have an A140E built for the power by someone like IPT, it's not worth the hassle especially considering that a built trans from them is about $2500.
My auto 3SGTE lasted about a year and then second gear was gone. I drove it a while longer after that and it finally just gave out. There was some custom work that had to be done such as having the 5S flexplate machined to match the 3S crank's bolt configuration, the 3S flywheel bolts had to be shortened, and then the wiring harness had to support two computers, one for the 3S and one for the A140E. Unless you have a ton of money to throw at this project I'd suggest thinking about other options. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |
