my 94 celi had a clarion stereo unit in it with the face plate stolen off before i got my hands on it. i recently bought myself a new pioneer stereo so i could have a working radio. i bought the adapter harness for it as well, soldered all the wires to where they should go. pluged everything in to see if it worked, but nothing. i went through and checked to make sure i did all the wires right, and they were, fuses were good. maybe i set off the factory anti theft? i have no idea here, i appriciate any help.

check the fuses....

make sure there is juice. Did you conect the pioneer to the oem amp, hope not....

does it even turn on? anti theft does not work on aftermarkets...

i did check fuses, they were fine as were the wires i did.

as far as actual current to it, not sure, but it does not turn on.

im pretty sure it wasnt hooked up to the amp as seeing there was already a aftermarket unit in there. but how could i tell for sure? there is a loose connector that is white, and it seems a blue wire that was on the amp has been cut.

did you wire it correctly. there are two power wires. the switched needs to go to the red in the new unit and the not switched to the yellow (for memory) make sure you have grounded it correctly. There are two location of fuse boxes there is another one under the hood, check there..

did you melt the new head unit, some units come with their own fuse, check it.

i would take the new unit and test it directly, hooking the red and yellow to the battery + and the black to the battery - to test it.... then you would now for certain it works..

alright, i checked the one under the hood, it was the 20A fuse. it turns on now, but no sound or static just a whole lot of nothing. maybe the amp still is hooked up? and im pretty sure i did wire everything correctly and def. made sure each wire was individually taped so theres no other contact. so i dont know the rerason for no sound.

amp's still in. but i was looking at it earlier. the harness for the amp is disconnected. so im pretty sure everythings good except for the fact that i have no sound to speakers. although when i first turn the unit on i hear a pop over the system that comes from the speakers?

it sounds like a short, you should revise your connections, did you use an after makrket harness or did you splice the oem harness.

so the new harness is plugged into the oem harness of the car. Then you should have two plugs. one is 10 and the other one is 6 plugs..

do you have another toyota, you can test it in...
