I never knew the corolla AE86 was also called "hachi roku." I'm also planning to get an AE86 corolla because I want to drift and learn how to drive stick. My cousin won't let me practice driving stick on his car any more 'cause i stalled the car hella times. It sounded like it was about to blow up. Since the AE86 is cheap and affordable I wouldn't have to worry about the tranny blowing up and i would be able to abuse the **** out of it =)

hachi roku is merely the Japanese pronuncation of the numbers 8 and 6

as for buying one, good luck finding one in decent shape for "cheap" wink.gif

a better choice for learning would be a s13 or a fc rx7. pretty common and affordable too.

Hioctane, there is a really REALLY clean AE86 that is for sale in the bay area but the issue is the money...15G's. It is fully modded and is drift-ready. I'd jump onto it if i were you. I think next year this car is gonna be labeled as a classic. Worth having.
