Hi,
I just went through the code that's powering the Members' Rides section, and it turns out that it wasn't loading because the page was trying to load data from three different database tables, which was taking a long time. By reducing this to two tables, I was able to reduce the load time greatly, so now the section should load again. Unfortunately, it takes a while to load the entire page, because it still takes approximately 6.5 seconds for the server to execute the code which powers the page. To reduce this time, I've considered limiting the results to fifty members' rides by default. There would of course be next and previous links in order to navigate through the results, and you would be able to change the limit to a higher number through the filtering form. It would reduce the inital load time of the members' rides section by approximately four or five seconds, and you'd still be able to list all the rides in one page if you wanted to. Do you guys think I should go ahead and do this? Just let me know what you think. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

i like it the way it is. i'd rather wait an extra 1.5 seconds to not have to click next or previous.

Actually, it's an extra four or five seconds, just to clarify What's everyone else think of this?

I think it's a good idea, or you could have it as a default 50 per page, then the user could scroll a menu bar to customise his/her search to how many or few they want displaied per page?..?

Sounds ok. But if you do this I think you should add another couple of sort/order types.

Thanks for the comments guys. So polishchacha, are you talking about what I described in the first post, or something different. Your description is kind of ambiguous. Kamix, what other sort/order types would you suggest I use? Keep in mind that there's the advanced search form a click away.

Yea it works great. Only comment i have would be to make it automatically load by "members name assending" instead of by newest members. But i like having them all there at once.

It actually used to be setup that way, but I changed it so that newer members' Celicas get more exposure, and it makes it easier to look through the new members' rides by default. What's everyone think about what the default value should be? -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
