Ok. For some time now, about as long as ive had the car, ive had trouble with the Shifter stick rocking around in 5th gear. Basically, in 5th gear if i let go of the gas all the way or almost all the way, the shifter tries to knock itself out of gear, like if i let off the gas all the way, it rocks back and forth till im stead on the gas again. And i can pull the shifter out of gear without putting the clutch in (no i dont mean when i Rev Shift) but the thing is the shifter doesnt ever go out of gear on its own. Ive looked into this problem before and some have said that its because my front motor mount is out(which im replacing as well when i do the bushings) but a friend mine said that he though it was the bushings in the linkage cable are worn out. And that this is the problem for sure. Now either way im doing both the motor mount, on the basis that the engine moves around to much and its effecting many other things that need to be fixed, and the bushings, on the basis that whether or not its the reason for this issue im sure they are bad anyways and it wouldnt hurt to replace them. Im almost positive that this problem has nothing to do with the tranny because there is no grinding what so ever, its not hard to shift into gear, and it does it in no other gear. (However if im missing something that could make it the tranny, then please let me know)
Anyways, i was wondering if anyone knew where i could get Polyurethane Bushings for the Linkage cable? I figure why not get the good stuff if im going to get in there and replace them. so anyone know a good site to get these? |

Ok, im looking at the Shifter Cable Bushing Kit and the Shift Base Bushing Kit. What would be the best to fix my problem? or should i get both? And will both of these Fit in a Celica. I see where the Shifter Cable Bushing Kit says it will fit in 94-99 celicas, but the Shift Base Bushing Kit only says Toyota Kit. So does that mean all Toyotas?
