All im saying is that the second that blade doesnt cut through whatever you are trying to sever it will get stuck and you have to pry it out, mean while you are being over run. Crowbar is made for prying and digging in. and instead of sliceing at an angle against gravity, you can hack down using gravity to make the blow that more powerful. And then just pull it out with out worrying about it getting stuck.
I think we should all just invest in lightsabers, Right Death? jk |

LIGHT SABERS!!
(((pswewww))) @===)FTMFW!! I need that, and the "Sword of Omens" to complete my collection EDIT: Havoc, you have the arm power to wield a crow-bar on zombies. I dont. also, they'd try to eat me first, i'm just an appetizer for a meal like you (my scrony ass ) That's why i didn't say an AXE, because of the "Sticking in head" factor. We could also use fire too... but i dont see that being a quick kill... maybe if you had a hight advantage, where you could pour napalm (gas+styrophome) on a few zombies and toss a match... but i dont see that as being an effective zombie "quick kill" method. I personaly go for the sword; We'd have to stay in a group so that incase it gets stuck, havoc could wail on the zombie comeing up from being me; also that's the reason for the gun Quick kill. But if anyone in my group gets bit, I'll kill you before you turn This post has been edited by D-Man: Jun 25, 2008 - 7:39 AM -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! DO you believe in magic? Do you believe in magic? In a young girls heart How the music can free her whenever it starts And it's magic if the music is groovy It makes you feel happy like an old time movie I'll tell ya about the magic It'll free your soul but it's like trying to tell a stranger 'bout rock n roll If you believe in magic, don't bother to choose If it's jug band music or rhythm and blues Just go and listen It'll start with a smile It won't wipe off your face no matter how hard you try Your feet start tapping And you can't seem to find How you got there So just blow your mind If you believe in magic Come along with me We'll dance until morning, just you and me and maybe, if the music is right I'll meet ya tomorrow so late at night We'll go a dancin' baby then you'll see all the magic's in the music and the music's in me, yeah Do you belive in magic? Yeah. Believe in the magic in a young girl's soul believe in the magic of rock n roll Believe in the magic that can set you free Ohhhh, talkin' bout magic Do you believe like I believe? Do you believe in magic? Sorry had to do it Ummm, I dont know if i believe in magic persay. but ive seen some interesting things that would make me wonder. I think that humans could be able to do a lot of things then what we currently are. Telekineses for instance i think if we could find away to tap into certain parts of our brains we could pull that off, ive read a few studies on it that think its possible but cant figure out how yet. |

What kind of zombies are we talking about anyway?
Night/Dawn/Dusk/Day of the Dead type slow, limping, arms-stretched, "uhhhhhh........" out zombies? Or the 28 Days Later "GRRRROOOOWWAAAORRRRR!!!!!!!!!" super zombies that run faster than Carmelo can backpedal. Unless you're a total noob (and a weakling) at zombie slaying, it's hard to be overrun by the slow zombies when armed with a good sword. You can just pick them apart one at a time. But if you're up against the 28DL zombies which swarm you in waves, then it's more of a challenge. But a katana isn't made for hacking, so I can't see how one would get lodged in the flesh/bones of a zombie. They are used to slice, stab, and cut at angles, and you don't swing a katana like an axe as much as you pull them. So even if your blow doesn't cut through your target, the motion of the swing should still separate sword from zombie. BTW: Although I've never killed a zombie myself, I would imagine I would still be a pro at it due to my 200+ hours of VZCS (virtual zombie combat simulation --> House of the Dead) training I have. -------------------- 2002 SC430 (WC) - 19" SSR Comp-H, Daizen swaybars, Sparco Demons, JDM Soarer conversion, carbon fiber spoiler, Injen intake, front strut bar, drilled/slotted Brembo rotors 1997 Celica ST (DD) - 17" ADR, ViS Zyclone CF hood, ViS CF hatch, K&N intake, Invader body kit |

Slow Zombies are not realistic (yah i know dont say it)
Think about the science of it. When we are talking about the creation of a zombie and in real life, it has to abide by the laws of science. First, it cant be really dead. This is a Hollywood BS make the movie more suspenseful BS. It must have some kind of Brain function, blood flow, heart beat, oxygen intake and so on. However, what it doesnt need is thought. It doesnt have to think, just act and react. Do you think about breathing? no. you dont think about making your blood flow in your body, you dont have to think to be hungry, these are animal traits and instincts that are the basic nature of humans. what makes us able to function as we do in life is our ability to think, create, learn, basically higher thought. Now take that way. What are you left with, The animal, what im talking about is breaking humans down to nothing but the basics. to cut off our ability to learn, to think, just feed, and survive. If a virus was constructed to brake down human brain function to this very basic state, then you would have in all definition, a Zombie. To better understand lets look at some questions. Why do zombies charge when you are shooting them? 2 reasons are feasible. 1, no fear. If it is not afraid of the gun it wont stop and if it cant learn, it wont ever be afraid. 2. The body can still function with out the sense of touch, with dead Nerves so if it cant feel it it wont stop charging. (a virus could do this) Why must they eat all the time? Again this is Hollywood garbage. They would feed like normal human beings would, the stomach would only require what it needed to be full and then it would stop, any killing it would do would not be for feeding at this point, possible out of rage or just because the dominant instinct would be to attack.( Either way you would still want to stay away, and to be honest it would work out better for the human race if they where like movie zombies. If they get full, they wont strip a corps or meat, thus allowing it to reanimate. How could they reanimate? This depends on what the Virus (or maybe even a parasite) is and how it infected the body. A virus as we know them most likely could not cause a body to reanimate, what it could do is infect fast enough to cause the body to become a zombie before it actually dies. A parasite could take over the body itself and reanimate but at that point you are talking about things that might exist but that we have seen nothing that could prove that i could do something like that. So the most reasonable would be the Virus is super fast infecting, which wouldnt be that hard, think about how fast Snake Venom kills. same idea. When thinking about Zombies, take your mind out of Hollywood, and if you really cant do that, then think about 28 days later, that was a very real concept and pretty close to what could really happen. The only problem with 28 days later, is that at some point Zombies will feed on Zombies. Nature has given every animal the instinct reaction to not feed on its own kind. But when Starved, all animals will eat eachother. At that point, food is food. |

Wow, would not have thought about hiding in some of these. Hmm...I was thinking Alcatraz would be a good place to ride out a zombie apocalypse, but these would be much better.

Wow, would not have thought about hiding in some of these. Hmm...I was thinking Alcatraz would be a good place to ride out a zombie apocalypse, but these would be much better. These are good but they have their drawbacks that im not to keen on. 1, only 2 ways to get there and off, boat(which could be compromised in a storm, then your screwed) or Helicopter( also could be compromised in a storm, or break down and if it breaks down you may find it hard time find parts, not to mention you have to know how to fly and work on one) 2, although the advantage is that your away from land and away from zombies, this is not necessarily a good thing. Your away from any constant source of water (meaning youd have to wait for rain), and any other supplies that you might need to stock up on, then you have to get to land to get these things, which brings me back to number 1. I was thinking more like the Rockys, Colorado Springs to be exact. Why? because its a small town and supplies could be reached easily if your hiding in the mountains( which you would have a high ground advantage) in that wonderful little military base in the mountain wall. Once you get in, you do a quick sweep of the whole complex to make sure the place is secure and zombie free, then you only have to defend whats in front of your because you have mountain all around you. This is assuming they didnt lock it down but it so high up in the mountains and not to easy to get to in the first place, that it would be a good camp site while you worked to get the doors open or find a way in. |
