Well I saw this made for tv movie back when I was a preteen about a woman on Long Island who was molested nightly by a ghost - True story according to her and Hans Holzer. I also recently read a passage in one of his books concerning her case [Personally I can't stand his writing and if you ever do read his stuff skip the first chapter cause it's all about him and his amazing knowledge and abilities and blah blah blah...

yeah, i dislike self-proclaimed "Super" men. (meaning they have above average talents and they are better than you rolleyes.gif )

They piss me off b/c i'm a fcukin genus. laugh.gif j/k tongue.gif

Oh, and back on the topic of ghosts, In the 50's people would travel claiming they were "Ghost-hunters" of sorts, and said that ghosts were invisible, and the only way to see them was in the "magic" of photography. So (if any of you have taken photography in h/s you'll know what i'm talking about) they'd under expose pictures in their camera; usualy of civil war veterins or children; rewind the film, then take pictures of people's houses, and it would make that gastly, half taken picture of a veterin seem to be standing at attention behind people, or children jumping rope in the basement, ect. Then the people would make mental connections; ex: "Oh, my grandfather fought in the civil war, he must be protecting the house" or "My neice dyed when she was 8, she must be trying to stay close to family"

Then these "Ghost hunters" would charge a fortune to "Expel" the ghost; and using a new roll of film, they could "Confirm" the "ghosts" were gone. rolleyes.gif

Big ass money making hoax. wink.gif

Just a though...

On the Bigfoot topic - that's a big thing around here, too. I think it's kind of a big thing anywhere that's got heavily wooded rural areas. Oh wait, it's Sasquatch here.

Anyway, I have a hard time swallowing that one. It's fair to say my own beliefs are subjective to my own experiences though.

First let me say I def believe in ghosts [I've seen one first hand] - but your statement above isn't very well thought out. Sure they don't charge the person - because of that person the network pay them to go "invistigate". The show is making money for the network by advertisement during the show. So you see - everyone is getting paid. It's not like they are doing this out of the kindness of their own hearts.
And personally I think that show is BS - it's like the man drama car tuner shows only with "ghosts".

IDK griff, that one is believeable to me. Sure, it may not be some mystic creature; but it could be like a deformed giant retarted half man half bear thing; and its been called theese names for so many years. Just like the ambomible snow-man, i think theese things are bears... or half human/half bear's...

Sure there is a logical explination, but it's possible that one exists.

I just dont see how its possible for a ceature like that to stay hidden in the US for so long without anyone shotting it, or getting a really good picture of it, or finding its cave or whatever. If this was like in the Rain Forest then i would totally be behind the idea. Hell, they are still finding new creatures in the Rain forest and all over South America. But in the States? i just dont think so.

Hey Sever how about we add this to your thread. Anyone believe that Zombies could happen?

that book is awesome, Has some really good ideas, dont know if the stories are true but i found some info on the net about the Virus they mention in the book, most likley thats garbage too, but even still the theory is sound.

I believe it could very well happen. but not like random living dead. But like 28 days later style. That is so possible.

For those who haven't read this survival guide book, in the event of a global zombie outbreak, the best weapon to have is a sword, the best mode of transportation is a bike, and whatever you do, don't give monologues while standing near a door/window/glass/opening with your back towards it...that's the equivalent of walking into a redneck bar holding hands with another dude and wearing matching rainbow color shirts and short shorts: you're just asking for trouble.

Don't know about the rest of you fellas but I'm all stocked, locked, and ready to go if such a viral outbreak should occur (played too much RE biggrin.gif )

no way dude, Sword is no good, Even with a Katana you would still have to swing it pretty hard to cut through the neck and bone, and if you try to hack at the head it could get stuck in the skull, then you got to pull it out and while you trying to free your weapon your over run. also you have to think how hard it would be to find a Real sword, not a replica. Guns are your best option, 1 pistol(2 if you are a good shot with both hands) Shotgun (no scater shoot) or rifle(scoped, need to stay away from auto, waist of ammo) a Crowbar(Multi purpose and light weight) a Mashetti ( for cutting through forest and a good weapon when face a few Zombies) and a good knife for all other cutting needs.

Nah, sword is def the way to go. Here's why:

1) Unlimited ammo (never runs out unless it gets dull)
2) Dependable (won't jam or needs to be reloaded)
3) Durable (folded forged steel)

Guns are great, but you will eventually run out of ammo, which will leave you screwed. Crowbars are good, but too heavy and unwieldy to be used as a weapon effectively. A mashetti is okay but it's nothing compared to a katana in terms of distance and control. As for having to swing hard with the katana, any bladed weapon will need to be swung hard to cut through bone and flesh. Sportscience actually tested all sorts of weapons and found out that the katana is actually the ideal weapon of choice (excellent power, good killing distance, exquisite control). And it is easier to decapitate someone with a katana than it may seem. But yeah, it'll be hard to find a real one. Even replica/functional swords can costs a few hundred on ebay.

Okay, We're talking about swords; My .02Cents is a-coming.

(Keep in mind i collect weapons, Primarily Ninja & Samurai style Swords; And Guns) Ask Death, he's seen everything that's not in storage. wink.gif

Jin-Taquai, (Spelled many ways in english, Best spelling for pronunciation) Would be HANDS-DOWN the pick for a zombie battle. Extra long blade, 2 handed, Balanced for Pivot ((Power)) Slices. Designed for smaller Men, and Warrior Women (Usually Ninja), to achieve the power that Muscle-bound Samurai had in the same slice/swing. Mine is 1280 stainless wink.gif And red w/ wooden sheath.

2 Katana method; Not recommended!! You'll not have the power & concentration needed to overcome a swarm of zombie, and be tackled eventually.

also, I'm all about building the armored bus w/ insanly creative weapons to drive threw crowds of zombie, and living in various mall's. (Dawn of the Dead)

BUT!! in addition to swords, You NEED to keep at minimum a pistol on your side just in case you need a quick shot, or need to hit something far away. I pref the shotty, but at least keep the pistol.

And i'll leave you guys with that...
