Ok now you going to get me started:
I graduated from UT and I am I have been following this team for awhile. If there is a team to break USC's win streak/champion status, it is this Texas team. But you are right, Texas will have to play mistake free football, but most importantly, they have to play the best defense they ever have played. Guys, I think you are going to see a defensive masterpiece put together by the master mind- Gene Chizik. yeah I said it. Remember how we held Ohio State, in the shoe, AT NIGHT. LOL. If Jammal Charles is healthy like he was in the start of this season, man oh man... the whole country is in for a surprise. I would like to hear other peoples opinion on our team, preferrably from eastern/western/northern states. Or countries TAKE US THERE VINCE!!! HOOK 'EM GO HORNS!!! Well,
here it is: USCs offence is AWESOME. USCs D is not too good. UTs offence is really good. UTs D is really good too. Reggie Bush is really the only problem i see . . . very big one at that . . . texas did however shut down that guy on Colorado's team that was avg. 10 per carry prior to their meeting . . . so i see hope in that . . . but on the flipside, USC has NOT played against a team like UT . . . they have never faced a QB like V. Young...and i think that will play into the layout of everything...esp. witha weak D such as USC has. so, i see it as BOTH teams having to play a great game, USC has the upper hand b/c of : been there, done that/almost a home game, only 15 miles between their school and the Rose Bowl...and oh yeah, that guy, i forget his name?....i think it is Bush...not sure though...lol, jk just a few thoughts hope to see this : ~snap -------------------- Past: V6 Swapped 6G Celica, E46 BMW M3, Jeep Wrangler TJ

YES !!!!! The game of the overrate QB's !!! I cant wait to see which one flops in the NFL first.
Leinart = Next Pennington Young = Poor man's Mike Vick. If u wanna see a REAL QB in action. take a look at Brady Quinn. THE NEXT BIG THING. I was right when i saw Ben Roethlisberger in his sophomore year in college. And im gonna say the same about Quinn, who i saw when he was a freshman 2 yrs ago. Just look at Timmy Chang who's the all time leader in NCAA collegee football in yards. Where are they now? Young is a run first, pass second QB and those QB's NEVER work out in the NFL. I'll be surprised if he even plays QB at the next level. ND football is overrated? LOL. If Matt Leinart didnt fumble out of bounds in the USC vs. ND game this year (in the last seconds), ND woulda knocked them out of the number 1 spot and they themselves could be playin for the national championship. They're FAR from overrated...i dunno what you're talkin about. Brady Quinn is overrated? If u wanna talk about stats and numbers...hee broke almost every single game record for any Notre Dame QB. Yea....including Joe Montana. and im not arguing...i dont argue. i love football and i love talkin about it. its more of a debate than an argument This post has been edited by Sh0gunkid8721: Dec 25, 2005 - 2:57 AM -------------------- Note to new members. Vince Young is a great passer??? LOL. Since when? The Big 12 is probably one of the most overrated Conferences in NCAA football this year. He's a great runner? Who cares !!! NFL Scouts are not gonna look at his scrambling ability when they're scouting him cuz it doesnt work in the NFL. Name me ONE successful scrambling QB in the NFL right now. I cant name ONE and NO. McNabb is not a scrambling QB. He's a MOBILE QB. Good QB's make WR's look good. I can't name a Texas WR that's been a stand out this year.
Looking at Texas's EASY schedule, i can name u 2 good teams that theyve played all year. Ohio State and Texas Tech and i dont even consider Tech a great football team. Texas got into the BCS picture by playin some of the easiest teams. Notre Dame is overrated? They started off the season by knocking TWO teams out of the top 25 picture. Pittsburgh was ranked 23 and i think Michigan was ranked in the top 15. They also played the numer 1 team in the nation and shouldve beat them. USC got lucky. Put ur Texas pride aside, cuz u have the most overrated team in the nation.

stats in college football dont mean sh** !!! LOL. Brady Quinn passed for more than 1,000 in his freshman year playing just 60% of the games on his schedule so i dont know why you're so excited about that. And if you're such a Young fan, u would know that he passed for over 2,000 yds this year. AND STILL thats not impressive. Quinn has passed for over 3,600 yds and threw for 6 TD's in a single game this year. He's THROWN for more yards than Young has rushing AND passsing. AND Brady's thrown for more yards this year than Young has in his last 2 seasons. This post has been edited by Sh0gunkid8721: Dec 25, 2005 - 7:28 PM -------------------- Note to new members. One more thing...Young is playin for Mack Brown who is still coaching in a collegiate football system. Brady Quinn is playin within the same system that has won 3 Super Bowls in the last 4 yrs. Brady Quinn is playing in an NFL system, and that's why he's gonna be 100 times better than Young in the NFL.

you gotta keep in mind heavy scrambling QBs is a relatively new thing.. Eventually, the QB will be half and half. Lets not forget Vince is also only a junior, hes still got another year to improve. How can you call UT over rated? the only reason the Big 12 IS so bad, is because they all goto Texas anyways...
You cant go on stats, because each team plays a different style...UTs happens to be a run heavy offense, with deep passes. its just like Techs QB... I think Young will be good in the NFL, not the same way someone like Manning is with accuracy...but still. I also think ND is a very good team, not to mention if you look in the college rule books, reggie bush isnt allowed to push Leinart into the endzone the way he did, so ND shoulda won that... But look at Michigan and Pitts, they can easily be related to Texas' games against Ohio State and Tech... NOt the best teams, but respectable. I THINK ALL THIS PROVES WE NEED A TOURNAMENT SYSTEM. WHAT WOULD BE BETTER THEN TONS OF THE BEST GOING AT IT EVERY WEEK? -------------------- I am now a part of the ihavemorethen16gc club! |

The rest are MOBILE QB;'s. Theres a HUGE difference. Scramblers are QB's that run forward and run instinctively. Mobile QB's that run laterally to buy themselves time to throw the ball. Between Vick and Cunningham, how many post-season games have they won? How many super bowl appearances? None. well keep in mind that there are also great WRs, like that kid from USC...the oldest WR in Texas' bunch is only like a sophomore...we have like 8, maybe thats y you cant name any, because we have a ton of good players ,not one or two excellent players...we may not be that great, but between ALL the talent, theres something to UT.

As a UCLA student, all i can say is F**K SC!!! I hope that texas kills them. usc has better offense, but bad defense, the longhorns are an overall better team, and i think they will win. (fingers crossed)
