FF,FR,MR,RR,AWD???

just wanted to know if anyone knows wich came first.. or which do you think came first?

if you think back to the era of horseless cairages(sp?) the engine was mounted behind the driver,

so im guessing that rwd came first in the form of a rear/mid engine setup.

im not too sure tho.

rwd, its easier to have the push on an axle where the wheels arent required to rotate in either direction. simpler design.

It was BMW that started out making airplane engines then got into cars thats why when u see there embelm it looks like a propeller. BTW, RWD cars were first. They made fwd cars due to economic purposes cus it saved on cost of materials.

They could be the first to mass produce them, but at the same time there were other companies in the states making engines for Glen Curtis and hte Wright Company.
