I am just trying to figure some things out right now. Im drawing up a buisness plan right now and I just need to get some answers that I cant seem to get a clear answer for any where ive looked.
First question is the term "motor mechanic", does that mean automotive mechanic? like car repairs? or is this somethin completely different? and if it is somethin different, what do you called a car mechanic? 2.Whats the average annual income for an AU citizen?? Just ball parked.. 3. Whats the average cost of housing *letting/renting*? and last but not least, 4. Are LHD cars legal to register there and drive on a daily basis? Not as a visitor from another country bringing a car there, but as a resident of AU driving it as their primary car. Im just trying to get some information together and thouse are the only little hickups im having right now. For what ever reason i cant find any decent information on the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bryan |

Hi! i live in queensland (just north of brisbane to be exact). Ill try and answer as best i can..
1. To me a "Motor Mechanic" is just a general car mechanic, ive not really seen the word used to suggest anything else. 2.Average income, now that differs greatly as you can imagine, but to ballpark, the average joe, would probably earn id guess like $38,000 - $45,000?? give or take. 3. Whats the average cost of housing renting? OK now thats a very broad spectrum, it depends greatly on location, it can differ by over $100 a week for a similar house in the next suburb. but to give you an idea, in my suburb, 20 mins from the city, close to 3 major shopping centres etc.. 4 bedroom 2 bath 2 car garage etc, we pay $360 a week. (almost brand new home but on a small block) 4. LHD.... Short answer, no. From what i understand this varies once the car is 30 years old. From what im aware once the car reaches 30 years of age it can be imported and registered, im sure there is compliancing to pass etc but its definately possible. I see cadillacs and mustangs and stuff all over with LHD. Hope it helps atleast a little. -------------------- |
