I currently have a 600W 12" Phoenix Gold Sub in a single carpeted box, with a Sony 800W Amp connected to it. I just picked:
I have the 4 speaker system. - Two 6.5" 200W Phoenix Gold Speakers for the front doors - Two 5.25" 200W Phoenix Gold Speakers for the rear - Two 150W Tweeters - One 1.5 Farad Capacitator - One 800W Power Akoustik 4 Channel Amp for the speakers My question is how is all this supposed to be wired up? The tweeters I want to stick on the little triangle things on the doors. Im confused because I understand to get another power wire and another ground wire for the new amp. But the RCA wires and the memory wire, where does that go to, since my deck only has place for only one amp. How does the capacitator get connected? If someone can help me out with this by explaining or a diagram, I'd reealy appreciate it. thanks in advance. This post has been edited by mikecelica: Aug 16, 2008 - 5:27 PM |

OK HERE WE GO.....
Power cable: Distribution block (wal-mart has them on shelf - brand scoshe) Here you are going to disconnect the battery (+) from the amp, connect to single side of distribution block, on the other side you will have 2 seperate short power cables going to each amp... Ground: 2nd cable (self explanitory) Remote wire: Here you can simply use a jumper wire from amp 1 or splice and do the same thing. RCA inputs: (amp dependant) Since your HU only has 1 set of pre-amp outputs you need to put those into the amp that HOPEFULLY has passive outputs like the ones on your radio, so that you can run rca from primary amp to secondary amp.... Good luck |

Capacitor is an option but basically this is how you wire it up. You can get a distributor block like mentioned. Make sure your primary wire is at least a 4 gauge. Or basically not smaller than your distributing power wires. You know what I mean, don't let a little wire feed two bigger wires. Other than that, you can run two power cables from your battery each with its own fuse. Ground wiring is a given find a good contact nut/bolt and secure it.

So I disconnect the wire going into the speakers from the deck?
Since the music will be provided to the amp thru RCA from the deck? |
