im new to celica all-tracks and have read that 6th gen celicas dont have awd or the 3sgte (which sucks that there isnt an all-track vers in the us). i was wondering how hard would it be to put the awd from the jdm to the usdm celica?

yea man do a search

for a quick breakdown

get yourself an st205 from japan and take out the floor and rear end and subframe for the rear end and the gas tank and trunk floor and swap all that into your celica

labor at a shop (which there arent any that know how to do this) would run you about 5 g's or so.

so just do a 3s-gte swap

get a limited slip differential and you will be fine.

its going to be a total hack job, cuz you have to chop up the sub-frame, i donno, but i dont think legally it would have a clean title. you may even need to make it a salvage title because of the work needed on the subframe

i am doing this

and i am probably not ever going to sell the car again.

and if i were to sell it again it would probably be to someone on here.

i am not going to doubt you on the salvage title thing but about the hack job well i dunno.

if you take your time and have knowledge and expertise in welding and auto mechanics and have a couple of experts in those fields helping you as well then its possible.

i know of a certain person on here who used a zawsaw and all trac (5th gen) parts for his 6th gen "awd" set up. now he says that its not awd because of alignment issues and such which at first he claimed that its not necessary to swap in the floor from a st205 but now his car has fugged up.

if you swap in the floor and everything from an st205 and take your time (meaning months of work) and eventually it SHOULD come out like it did from the factory. obviously it wont be as strong as the factory but there are things you can do to help with that.

no doubting you K2 just showing a different view...hehe
