Yesterday I tackled the project of painting my GTS wheels, and I've just gotta say, they turned out amazing. Here are pics I took not too long ago:

Tell me what you guys think.

agreed. but they do look nice. i think they would go quite well with a black or blue car as well. if i were to paint mine though i think i would do gunmetal. it would go better with the silver IMO
what type of paint did you use?

For those wondering about the process:

1) Take off wheel
2) Clean it with soap and water
3) Sand with 320 grit sandpaper
4) Clean it with soap and water
5) Mask off the wheel (I used a deck of playing cards)
6) Apply 2 medium coats of automotive primer (4 minutes between each coat)
7) Apply 3 medium coats of wheel paint (10 minutes between each coat)
8) Let dry in the sun for 1 hr.

I used Duplicolor wheel paint, it worked really well. Materials were about $40. It took 3 cans (you could do it in 2 if you have experience painting) of the wheel paint, and 2 cans of primer.

The white and gold go well together. Although, i will admit i like the factory looking approach with the silver on gts rims. Looks like you coated them well though. smile.gif

Too bad you missed this today:

I sprayed the inside with 2 coats of the primer, but not with the wheel paint. I believe it turned out perfect.

Looks Great! I think painting the center caps was a good idea.
