I am seriously considering that HKS combo for my GT. Has anyone tried the header? I saw some opinions on the exhaust in the parts database but none on the header.
Will there be a noticeable effect on the performance [dyno run] with those installed? Any opinions are appreciated. |

Wow, didn't know HKS made stuff for our car now. I wonder if emission passing would be possible with the header.

Yeah, I thought that sounded good, so I went and checked it out...it says its for an ST202, which would be the 3sge, right? And we have st204 the 5sfe...Still , I can think of better ways of dropping 600+ dollars on my celi.

well goferris has a thread about the 3sge header. technically it should fit cuz people are using the 3sgte turbo manifold.....im guessing it should be the same. well its all in the thread.

And when you can make an exhaust that's of the same level for a third of the price, I'll go with custom. -Matt |

Yeah, read it a few times and ref'd it earlier on something else. Im starting to find that all these numbers are starting to look the same. I see that you can, then I read that you cant, then I read that you can but you have to do some custom work, then again that it cant be done. I agree that in theory its all the same, but thats just a guess...havent messed with the headers yet. My primary concern would be emissions, but all this is on another post. I totally agree with matt about the exaust too. Save the cash for something else. |

Alright guys: 1. emmissions is not my concern 2. i have a 3s-ge so it is made for my engine 3. in Poland a custom, complete exhaust [header, cat converter, cat-back] is maybe $300 less than this HKS combo I had a custom header and exhaust in my old civic and it was a 5-7hp gain on the dyno out of a 1.6 SOHC engine. If this one gives me nothing but a better sound then I will not bother. |
