I really don't want to buy them because they look oem and buy the look of them they seem to not have good pipe line running to me. yea I notice ebay bought I did some goggle and found a header for my celica the only question that remain it looks like it can't hook up to the front cat. I always wonder why toyota did that but oh well I will do some research on that header and find out what the story are.
here the link I was talking about http://www.2kracing.com/Product/18421.html |

Thats true, there is no pic of the actual header. Although I was reading about this a few days ago...headers...
I know its not really "carb" legal, and there ahs to be some custom work done, but its probly the closest thing to it considering its all stock stuff (just off a camry). How strict can emissions testing be in RI? |

if it has a o2 sensor it will have a carb number. Anything from the cat and back made for street use has to have a carb number. If no o2 port no carb Ri is very strict mass and RI are the two most strict state beside califoronia being the worst.
I might give them a call to see if can email me a real photo because headers with carb # should be able to go on stock exhaust. yea sorry gt one I will do more reasearch and find out more about it. |

Yeah, you are going to want the aftermarket executive order number. Im on the CARB website now...there is alot and there isnt an easy way to nav it...But here is the link if you are interested.CARB Site Feel free to take a look and see if you cant find any CARB "legal" headers for the celi. |

It feels like my eyes are gonna explode. I looked on the site for OBX, and they are not on there for headers. Then I looked for any celica CARB headers, and found none for the 6th gen. Though some for 7th, 4th and 3rd I think. BTW, im not sure on what you ment if it had an O2 sensor it would be carb legal. If you ment that it had the bung for it that it would be carb legal, then thats wrong. Almost every aftermarket header that Ive seen has the bung for the O2 sensor, it dosent make it CARB legal tho.
As far as the exaust you mentioned...."anything from the cat and back....." here is what I got for that...An exhaust system that is installed AFTER the catalytic converter is considered a "cat-back" system and is considered emissions legal. (Sound level restrictions may be an issue in your state, check with the exhaust manufacturer or you local authorities for more information.). Its when you start messin with the cat that it becomes "illegal". Was reading that the only time a cat maybe replaced is when its verified to be non functioning by a tech, and then only replaced with an OEM cat. Although that law is pretty much not enforced. Its all here Emissions stuff This post has been edited by Spider77: Jul 20, 2008 - 7:12 PM |

anything from the rear cat and forward has to be carb legal. If it has no o2 sensor hole for you to put the sensor then it not street legal. Mean get pulled over and they don't have carb number you going to have to pay the fine. Maybe not for celica we won't find one like I said I will do more research on those headers. they are out there carb # for street legal.

Yeah, from the cat up has the be "carb legal"....yuo said from the cat and back....which would make it exhaust stuffs (you know what i mean). As far as the O2 hole (bung) I have yet to see a header that doesnt have this "hole". I know about the carb number, but like I said earlier, I didnt find a carb legal header for the 6th gen. Maybe Its out there but I didnt see it. Not to say there might be one for another 5sfe (mr2, camry). There sure alot for the civic though.... |

I had a "HP Racing" Header on my 97 and it had a spot for an 02 sensor to plug into it....and I passed emissions every year.
