I rode in one of these a while back, and I didn't like the dash layout. It felt like the dash was way to high. I don't think they're bad, I just wouldn't ever trust a Mitsubishi.
With everyone giving you crap I can see where they're coming from, but thats what you get for posting your Mitsubishi in a Celica forum. I got crap (not nearly as much though) when I posted up my WRX. With that said... it's time to source some light gray Sparcos and put your baseball cap on sideways. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

That guy in the picture is the dude I bought it from, he's a little metro if u ask me, but anyways I went to the track this weekend and ran a 14.5 sec in the quarter mile. My buddies 99 GSX ran an almost flat 13, and my other friends decked out SRT-4 ran a 12.1. So im not the fastest on the road but I do do it in style though. Also, take a look at a bunch of car decals im selling for best offer in the buying/selling forum.

"Now Im going to do just about all mechanical work to the eclipse to get it pretty fast."
I almost urinated myself from the laughter. Good luck, kid. hey i haev a great question for everyone.... if you went to the car dealer (carless of course). and they gave you a choice of a 96 celica , or a 02 eclipse, which would you take? Depends if the Celica has Porsche head lights and S2000 tail lights. This post has been edited by OOBE: Jul 28, 2008 - 3:21 PM -------------------- |

I'll stick with my 215hp 6-speed GT-S that can pop 0-60 in less than 6 seconds, weighs 2500lbs and runs high 13's,low 14's... Not to be hatin' but... FFS you shouldda stayed JDM! Atleast your car would have been able to see 200,000 miles someday. I agree with above. Show me a dyno sheet or there is no way i believe you. I know a lot of people with vvtli's and there is just no way mate, sorry. The TRD vesion only has just over 200BHP for god's sake. Are you telling me you are better at tuning than TRD? BS mate ![]() agreed^ the vvti is like cheap honda v-teck....i was just going to ask what mods you had done to it? I'll make sure to show my track times and videos of me beating a lot of "nice" cars at Import Wars this year and I will DEFINITELY find some new Eclipse to make an example out of by handing him his butt... You guys can ask Presure2 or not if my car sounds mean...it was recently at his shop. ![]() /bow p.s. Don't compare vvtL-i to a v-tec... and btw, son, vvti is what's in the 00-05 GTs, I drive a GT-S which is the same motor as the Lotus. vvtL-i to vvti is the difference between the old school mustang 4 banger and the 5.0...both look the same but only 1 could outrun the cops. Do the math and some research before making yourself look foolish. Don't get your panties in a bunch. If it is truly 215hp you should have the dynosheet to prove it, or else you're just speculating, which just makes you look bad when you flip out like this. Saying your car has 215hp off of bolt-ons is like me saying the Yelli Celi was throwing down 175hp with bolt ons. No high revving low-displacement motor can get there without a significant amount of work - and furthermore it doesn't matter if the motor comes in the Elise, it's all about power/weight ratio, which the Lotus does much better than the Celica. That's the whole reason why it's fast. and vvtl-i is Toyota's i-vtec. vvti is equal to vtec. Sorry to burst your bubble. Both are variable valve timing with intelligence. So please, list your modifications, track times with timeslips, and a dynosheet - or it's all not true. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Who cares if your car 'sounds mean' ![]() your car is not anywhere near 215 BHP FACT. And in case you don't realise, there is not that much difference between the VVTi and the VVTLi, 99% of the time they are the same, 140 BHP. Only at 6300RPM does the intake open to provide the extra 50 BHP. How often do you drive at 6300 RPM? Dyno sheet or stop arguing thanks. -------------------- |

Considering I redline at 8,400,Spunky. Like I said...I am racing August 30th in IMPORT WARS and I will have my sheets and VIDEOS to prove. My buddy drives a new convert eclipse and it spends more time in the shop than on the road. TOYOTA > Mitsubishi.
and um,for the noobs that know nothing about the 7th gen and don't actually own one... vvti is not the same thing as vvtl-i, one is like an inline turbo. LiFT hits and you FLY. You have no idea. and ALSO,if you knew anything from reading any of my other posts...I drive a 2000 GT-S 6-Speed...the 2000 version is the fastest of the GT-S series. LiFT kicks in around 6k,not 6,300 and my redline, like I just said it 8,400 instead of 8,300. That being said...I can wear out my LiFT bolts faster than the 01-05 which means I have to maintain that extra part on the car,but the $2 and 30 minutes of labor is worth it every couple of years. And to get back on topic... T R A I T O R. There are only 2 non-Toyota cars I'd ever drive... The new Nissan GT-R 6-speed AWD TT and a Ferrari Modena 360. But both cars are worth 1/2 of a house...so,you can see how soon I'd be driving one of those. -------------------- ![]() |

Okay, again you STILL don't have 215hp.
And it isn't like an inline turbo. I've driven a 2000 GT-S. vvtl-i feels EXACTLY like vvti. You hit a certain RPM point and the tone of the engine changes and you get a little push, but it definitely is nothing like a turbo. With my turbo I get tossed back into my seat and actually get to experience what 215+ WHP feels like. You don't get that from any N/A Celica. 7th gen or otherwise. EDIT - I forgot to add that a few weeks ago I stopped by our local tuning shop, Drift Office. I was hanging out while some people were coming in to dyno. Some guy brought in his Exige that had a few bolt ons (intake, header, exhaust) and it STILL ran 170whp/ 120tq. theres just no way your runnin a N/A 7th gen and running high 13's in the quarter mile....i just want to know every little detail about the car....weight reduction, bolt-on's, and what ever else you have done to this car to make it run high 13's....or even low 14's for that matter...im not tryin to piss you off or anything but theres just no way your goin that fast down the quarter mile with simple bolt-on's

Last time I checked you weren't supposed to swear on the forums little boy. And,I don't care where you live. I care that you are the only one talkin' smack. you don't have an operational 3s. I do have an operational 2ZZ-GE. You lose...I believe that is a forum stating that it's a powerful N/A motor. L2READ.

95CelicaST...your pitiful little EJ20T would lose to my Dad's new Volvo S70 AWD Turbo... since you wanted an AWD race...I'd love to see the look on your face when you lost.
And of course you are going to get crap for posting about your WRX because you sir,are a traitor too. WRX transmissions can only hold a 5 pound turd and then they break. Like I've said in previous posts...I have a friend that drives one and she is on her 3rd MOTOR. Toyota owns 8% of Subaru and apparently has NOTHING to do with their motors, looks like just operations. At least I stayed Toyota. -------------------- ![]() |
