Have a Clarion DXZ845MC unit, never had problems with it until I decided to put in a old / beat-up CDR in it. Well its plays the CD but when I try to eject it all you hear is the meachanism turning, then it will leave the face extended. The face eventually comes up after I turn off the car for awhile then turn it back on. I never really had to mess with this type of probelm plus I don't want to hurt the unit. So I hope no one tells me to stick a flat head into it mad.gif

What is the BEST way to get it out?

thanks!

Disconnect the power and try the manual eject button in back if so equipped. If not, well, flathead?
Did the CDR happen to have a homemade paper label on it? - that's the usual suspect [Never use those things in car stereos]

almost all head-units are designed to spit the CD out once you cut the Constant power and re-connect it. On that initial "POWER connected" sequence, it ejects CD's.

Otherwise; if it's broken... Disassemble and remove manually.

take the whole unit out and put a new one. If it started to mess up, it will keep doing the same/

Quick way, Disconect your batt for a few seconds. Then re-connect it, turn the key to acc. and the CD will spit out.

I had this problem before with my Panasonic 2 DIN DVD player, i just stick something in there to lift the CD off its slot a little bit and it came out.

^ exactly. Your CD will be toast but I bet it's the culprit anyway, not your head unit.

Manual eject is sort of a long shot - I haven't seen one of those on a CD player in a while [Then again I haven't looked for one either]. D-man's method and the one above both work too [I used to be married so I know how to rescue CD players rolleyes.gif ]
