I'm not sure where the parts are in the 6th gen celica, but as for the wiring of it, you'd find that little Gold flat Toner and trace the wires back, that'll be your melody box. Replace that. (its got a constant ground, and an Triggered positive, The timer to separate the beeps is built into the melody box)

IDK where to get a custom melody box though... My cousin once took one out of a "Independence Day Alien" so that his lil' S-10 Roared laugh.gif

Don't your headlights turn off anyway when you open the door?

Yeah, they sure do. They did in my 4Runner too. And now my fancy-pants JDM fogs do too.

they will turn off a min or so after you open the driver's side door. atleast they did in my 97. i wouldn't know in my 99 because my door sensor is messed up and doesn't know when i open the door so they'll just stay running. i'll tell you this much. when i first got my car i kept having to get jump starts mad.gif i need to get that fixed.

Not my car... Nope. The lights only turn off by them selfs after the battery is dead. Even then, there is still a little hue of light emitting from them...

if you have an alarm/starter (not sure if it goes for all types), your lights will no longer shut off with the ignition..

I'm not sure about Australian models but in both US and Canadian models the wiring for the auto cut-off for the lights is included in the integration relay box.

It's located in the fuse block that is behind the driver side interior kick panel, right under where all the interior fuses are.

The alarm theory is not necessarily true, it depends on how it was installed. I have a non-Toyota alarm and my headlights auto shut off just fine.

The relay I believe works like this:

i.If the engine is running with the headlights on and then you turn the engine off and open the driver's door the headlights will automatically shutoff.

ii.If you turn the headlights on while the car is not running then they wont shutoff if you open the driver's door.

You can add a reminder to the system by using two or more relays and some sort of buzzer.

on jdms the headlight circuits are so simple they don't even turn off when the starter motor is cranking (accessories do though), i think you have to have your key out and your door open to hear the monotonous high pitch sound of the headlight warning, because when your key is in you should have a continuous beep beep beep when you open your door (regardless of headlights on/off) to warn you that you left your keys in the car -- this is triggered by a small plastic attachment screwed onto the bottom of your ignition barrel which completes a circuit when the key is in, if you don't have that, then that may be whats stopping your headlamp warning aswell
