I'm just thinking ahead and ordering spare bulbs plus I hate the blue color of the ones I already have [personal preference - they look/work great if you like the blue] so my spares will be the ones that are in it ATM.
I don't believe the bulbs will work with the regular wiring at all but IDK. The ballasts just look to be large capacitor/transformer type but electricals aren't my bag so...

I have heard these are illegal in cali without having projectors to point them at the ground. Supposedly because of the stock housing the light will blind people at night , and you supposedly need projectors because they are aimed at the ground. Any truth to this because i would hate to get behind a cop if i had a set i already seen a buddy get a ticket for it.

Yes!

As far as the legality in Cali - if your headlights are aimed properly, it really shouldn't be an issue. IDK if technically they are legal or not, but plenty of people in Cali have them, that's for sure.

Okay, I've gotten further clarification as to the legality of HIDs:

QUOTE
They are illegal on most states, it basically comes down to " if your car didn't come with them from factory they are illegal" except those that have HIDs as an option and even those would have to change the headlamp housing for HIDs, as halogen lamps and HIDs are different as well.

So basically it's install at your own risk... I haven't had any real issues w/mine. I got stopped in Cali at like 3 am in the redwoods, but my headlights weren't aimed properly (my d/s was kinda whacked out). The cop asked me if they were stock and I told him they weren't, and he was just like "wow, those are really bright, get those aimed." No biggie.

So after you've ordered them - how long will it take to process/ship?

Here's the update: order went in on the 6th. I'm guessing I should receive product some time between the 24th and the 31st. I will post another update as soon as I have more info. Thank you to everyone for your patience with the unforeseen delay what with Hurricane Ike and all, and of course thanks to Culp for extending me the courtesy of accepting an order below the minimum this time around. biggrin.gif

I'd like to get another GB in time for everyone to get delivery by Xmas, but it depends on the turnout. I'm more than happy to start another one now, with the date left open-ended for the time being until some more names start popping up on the list. I don't want payment for them though until we have a confirmed date for this next round.

So, who's down for Round 2?

Edit: They got delivered to my house but no one was there to receive it! Crap, I thought I was having them sent to my job.

Hopefully they left a thing I can either sign or a note where I can go get them in person.
