im seriously considering some D2 coilovers and i was wondering if anybody was running these? i have been going back and forth with k-sport, D2, NEX, (they seem like they are outting out a good product) and Megan...im not looking to spend over 1,000 for these things so basically those are in the same price range im looking for. i have heard about k-sport..but very little on the others....im mostly interested in the D2's though so if anybody has these please let me know how they ride, and how much of a drop they are able to give you.

Heard bad stuff about D2 coilovers but the thing about NEX is that there are barely any adjustability.

don't know about the NEX but i have D2 on my prelude and they are,by far, the best mod i've done to it.
D2 and K-sport are the same. They are made by the same factory and they share the same shocks but they may be some differences in the spring rates and for sure the color (k-sport is orange with chrome shocks and D2 is pink with black shocks)

As for durability, I had my D2 set too low and too stiff as i was using my lude for some after midnight hill climp action and gave hell to them biggrin.gif . Finaly, after 4 years, the front right gave up when i hit a pot hole doing 130-140km/h and i replace all 4 of them with new ones just to be sure. rolleyes.gif

From what I understand all of the units that are similar to the D2s come out of the same factory in Taiwan. I know my G4 ones did - they just anodise them a different colour! Anyway I heard that very early on in the piece D2 had some quality problems but they sorted that out quick smart and the only horrific pictures I've seen have been from people using them on a racetrack.

I've had a set of the G4s for 4 months now and I love them. I look at it like this: if you're just using them for normal street use then they aren't going to be under anywhere near as much stress as for race use. So if you're going to take your car on a track then def pay more and get the high quality stuff. But if it's just for street use then you'll be fine with the economy stuff.

One other thing to note is that even if a strut does fail, replacement parts for the economy brands seem to be much easier to get. One of the reasons I went with the G4 brand is that the distributor here in Australia keeps a full stock of replacement parts.

Ride quality is how you set it. I accidentally ordered super stiff springs so it's a bit hard but handles like a dream. On a Celica they'll give you as much drop as you could ever want.

^ D2's might have corrected their issue but they use to blow fast. I was looking at NEX but they don't have damper or camber adustability. I'm looking at Ksport or Megan right now.
