So my current jobs gives me access to run a 3 axis machining center that can mill, drill, tap, countersink and burn out the parts, any thing from 3/16" - 1 1/4", and i can even make parts out of Abrassion Resistant metal(has a tougher metalurgical make up) 3/16" - 5/8". I can tap almost all metric threads as well as standard(American).
SO... if you can think and of a something that i can be making for the better good of 6gc.net let me know. Whether its just for you, or something that alot of people could use... Parts must be 2D(or flat as it were), i cannot ream the holes, or couterbore, no forming, and i CANNOT do anything out of stainless or aluminium. Detailed pictures or even better a DXF file of what you want emailed to me would be awesome, pricing will depend on how big it is out what material i make it out of. Im thinking along the lines of making turbo adapters(did on for a VW) or something simlar like that. Square or round, rectangles, triangles, circles, notched rectangles, whatever really... Not really sure how much help i can be, or why i never thought about this before last night, but figured i'd throw it out there for you guys. If you could make me an EGR block-off plate, that would be great. I'm going to look up the dimensions and let you know.

What cad cam system are you using? I use virtual gibbs, if some one wanted
a 3d product, I could probably help you out but I don't have a post processer. -------------------- JDM guy made me do it.

They wont let us use a real CAD sytem, they should be giving us PRO E to use, but i doubt it, i am stuck using the cad software that came with the machine, which is really sub-par. But i can make it work like an auto cad to draw parts and stuff it is just way slow:( Ya that would be cool if you could do that, sadly i am stuck with only 2d parts:( Gibbs is awesome, but they wont let us use it:( its retarded -------------------- 1 JL 1,000/1v2

I could use three 3-bar plates. They are just a square of metal with two slits down them. Used for racing harnesses.
If other people are into this...may be worth it. Wish Aluminum was possible though. without AL and SS, not sure where I'd go to ensure no rust issues. -------------------- |

iunno if it'd even be worth it for you to make those. I didn't really LOOK for ones, but i know that one i found for the pic was $4. assuming they dont rip you off with shipping, it's probably a total ~6.
i can't think of anything else for a 3-axis. . . -------------------- |

What kind of machine is it, our haas are all 3 axis and they can do about anything I could dream up, it may
take more than one operation but the sky is the limit. Also I am curious why no al or ss? -------------------- JDM guy made me do it.

what about cooling plates?? I would need one as a patern first... and then i would have talk the guy running our brake press to bend those. Depending on how many of those i'd be making i'd have to inform my company of it and then fill out paper work and pay them for everything i use... thus making it more expensive. And those parts should really get lasered(luckily for everyone i have an old job that has a laser and a press) I was planning on talking to him about that when i saw him about making custom mudflaps for the celicas, but i havent gotten alot of response on that topic... It is a Kinetic KV4000. it isn't a straight up milling machine, i can't put anything in a vice, the best i can do is weld the plate to table We can cut Al and SS but we dont. Both require their own unique plasma consumeables which we dont use, and have never been trained on:( its dumb, there is alot about my work i wish i could change, that is one of them:( -------------------- 1 JL 1,000/1v2
