i just changed my tires......the whole set. cuz i ran over a nail on my rear left and staples on my front right
![]() ![]() ![]() so i didnt want all should do. i got alignment with my new tires. only to come to the point from the lead mechanic that they cant get within factory specs. more people say you dont need those alignment kits to get factory specs within a certain drop range. well i have teins on new shocks. i thought i didnt need them.......but now i do. so this is just a heads up for all you guys. get the alignment kit and get your alignment done and check your tires. be safe be easy LIVE ALOHA ![]() i still cant believe im still alive also. the mech. also pointed out that my axle nut was loose and can be tightened or loosen'd by hand ![]() sorry i dont have pics and stuff. wasnt prepared.........$$ wise and physically when i got this done. oh yeah now that i have a sort of fixed alignment and new tires i can grip the road way better. AND DONT USE SPACERS!!!! i took my 5mm off because the contact point of the rim and hub wasnt good. something about the wheel easing its way off the lug bolts and slowly moving the lug nuts off. -------------------- I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island

Good advice, glad you took off the spacers.
A lot of the suspension parts on our cars are OLD. Be nice to them ![]() -------------------- |

That negative camber is half the reason why your car handles so much better after the drop BTW

Totally if you're worried about tire wear. I've never done it and the only time it comes back to bite me is once a year when I need tires cause the insides are bald and the outsides still show some tread [I tend to wear tires kinda quick tho
![]() That said, hardly anyone does. Edit; Actually wait - When I was lowered on Sportlines I got it to line up within specs at a Toyota shop using their laser alignment machine - so it's not always necessary [That was on a 30K mile 6gc tho and stock struts - which didn't wear out quick either - some of these "musts" are dependant on wear a bit too I think]. But usually. well i know im keeping up with most if not all Fwd cars here and just right behind alot of stage 1.5 awd car
![]() but my main worry now is tire life and getting my damn recon sticker updated ![]() to get recon i need an update alignment print out show im almost perfect with fact. specs, full list of parts install currently. also to make sure i have my headlight 22" from the center of the housing to the ground, visible (atleast 2") suspension travel, everything in the engine bay secured like the intake and timing belt cover on stuff like that. good thing is the guy before me already go recon for my 6gc for rims, exhaust, intake, drop (which wasnt on the car when i bought it ![]() ![]() when my eibach kits comes in i will try to get close to 0 degrees on everything, get my recon, then rework my camber to .754 degrees on all sides with .257 degrees toe in on the front and .35 degrees toe in on the rear. -------------------- I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
