Well, time to finally start on the exterior of my car! I bought a kit from AIT racing about a year ago, and let me say that you get what you pay for. I bought everything shipped for a little more than $400. Not bad i thought, until i realized that nothing even came close to fitting. So after a year of sitting in my basement, I decided that it would look a little better on my car than it did sitting down there.
Problem 1...front bumper matched up terrible to my car. Cut outs for the headlights were way too small and had to be trimmed a good deal just to match up. My crash bar was also preventing the bumper from sitting properly. And underneath the bumper there was fiberglass that was hitting underneath my fender. So last weekend i took everything out and got to work. Primed my bumper black ( couldnt stand the green gel coat anymore ) and started cutting. Everything matches up pretty well now...Problem 1 fixed. Problem 2...Side skirts had way to much extra fiberglass around the ends. So i just started trimming off the ends until they could fit on. Probelm 2 fixed, easy enough. Problem 3...Rear lip fits on and everything matches up, except for the right side, where it comes about an inch short of the rear fender, where it wraps around and bolts on. Now it wouldnt be a big deal to just cut the thing in half and extend the lip, but then the alignment on the exhaust cut out would be off. But, ill deal with this this weekend. So here's some pics of the front sitting on the car. I love the look of it and glad i finally started to work on it. Now the alignment is still off a bit because i only have the top 2 bolts in the bumper. But that will be fixed this weekend. Decided it would be best to leave the crash bar in and just work around it. Painted it black to try and blend in a bit more. you can see the sideskirts being held on by clamps for now lol skirts you can still see the crash bar a bit... ^^my best friend through all of this. Well I'll have more to come this weekend. And hopefully soon ill start the rest of the body work, then paint will come in the winter. Just going to keep it black, as theres no sexier color for this car than that Any advice would be helpful as im not too familiar with body work. -------------------- |

Thanks guys, Im not sure of the brand off the top of my head, but i kind of like how the lip covers the piping so all you see is the intercooler. No plans other than body and paint right now. I have some small things to do under the hood like replacing all the coolant hoses and redoing some of the wires running around through my bay. Also gotta take the turbo and manifold off again to repaint it. While thats off, I'll get a chance to put the stainless steel relocation kit on thats also been sitting in my house, alot better than the rubber hoses i've been using.
