Hi guys, I recently installed some JDM tails and they look great. However I couldn't work out how to set up the rear fog lights.
My car is an import and im in the UK so rear fogs are a legal requirement - Im presuming here that the JDM tails don't have fog lights built into them? Cause i certainly can't see it! My next question is that the previous owner rigged up a switch on the dash to turn the rear fogs on, however with the new JDM lights when switched nothing happens to the rear but when I brake the front fogs flash (turn on) = weird!!!! Is this some suspect dodgy wiring job that Im going to have to investigate and redo? Or this a common problem? Any help would be great!!! Ta! -------------------- |

hey dude. Why don't you post on the UK forums....more likely to get help there.
Sounds like the rear fogs were wired to work concurrently with the fronts. You need to isolate the curcuits/ Have a look at the wiring under the steering column and inspect with a multimeter. I have the same tails and I just fitted an aux fog under the bumper. |

are you using the wiring harness that came with the JDM's? because the wiring harnesses are univeral... last i checked, so you should be able to use the one that works.

Ah, that makes sense!!! I am using the wiring harness that came with the JDM's but the previous owner has obviously done some tinkering and done some odd wiring - I think i'll modify the offside reverse lamp to a fog and whilst im at it rewire the switch so that it doesn't come on with the brakes!!!
Thanks for the ideas guys!! Mucho appreciated!!! -------------------- |
