it simpler to swap in a 4age when you have a 7afe..

and yea it wounds like a good price.. but see if they can throw in the axles ...

You might try storm performance or venus auto. I would say Jarcoinc, but shipping would kill out to you.

When you say 90+, do you mean AE92 or AE101?

ok, 2 things.

the 90+ GZE is a MAP sensored version. up until 92 i believe, it was the AE92, and then from 93-95, it was the AE101.

the AE92 GZE (MAP) is rated at 165hp, whereas the AE101 is rated at just 5hp more, w/ 170(i believe due to a smaller SC pulley). however, i have spoken w/ a guy that has driven both, first hand, and he says the AE101 feels a little more sluggish. the reason is unknown, because it could have to do w/ the engine, OR, it could have to do w/ the weight of the 101 v. 92.

also, let me mention i have the 88-90 version AE92 clip w/ the 4AGZE AFM sensored intake. this engine, i have noticed, has an unknown hp rating. some say it is equal to the 88-89 MR2 GZE w/ AFM (which is 145hp), BUT, i have found sources that claim 5 less than the AE92 MAP, which would make the rating around 160. again, i have talked to someone who has first hand drove the car, and he claims that the AE92 AFM pulls equal to that of the AE92 MAP. soooooo, i can only assume it is the latter number, the 160hp. i believe there is a difference in crank or sc pulley on the AE92 vs. on the mr2, which gives the more power, but i am not sure if there are any other differences. i know the AE92 has the DLI, but um, iono...

as far as the swap being "simpler"...i will tell you this, it is not simple by any means. involved in the process is changing the rear-most mount (near the firewall), and also getting at least 1 custom axle made (if you get both axles). also, from dealing w/ mike, the use of the 7a AC compressor is needed, which i have yet to try out the fitment, and also the 7a alternator is suggested, which will NOT fit, so the 4a alt. must be used. um, anything else, iono. oh yeah, the crossmembers need to be modified (via 4.5" angle grinder wink.gif) in order to accept the HUGE axle shafts. that's about it, i'll do a more detailed synopsis of events when i fully finish...

anywho, as far as price goes, 1200 is a good price for the MAP motor. i got the full front clip from Jarcoinc.com for 1750, which i considered a good price, just because i trust the guys down there. i live in middle TN, so there was no shipping, i drove the 2 hours down and picked it up..BUT, shipping would have been around 225-250 i believe.

as far as Storm and Venus, coomer has had good experience w/ Storm, and other than through him, i haven't heard anything about them, i know noone else that has delt through them. Venus, on the other hand, is VERY shadey. not only are they unsure of the milage on the clips, and do NOT offer the instrument cluster w/ the clip, they also don't know which versions of the GZE they have in stock. example: they had 2 clips, i asked one guy which kind they were, and he said they were MAP. i called back to order, wanted to make SURE they were MAP, but the guy on the line told me they were AFM, and another said one was AFM, and one was MAP...sooooo, i requested pics, and both turned out to be AFM. and when asked about milage, i got the "um...i think there's about 70k on them" "km or mi?" "um...km i believe". so, needless to say, i never called back.

so there. there's my 2 cents. Toysport is a reputable company, and i'm also partial to Jarcoinc, but you can prolly tell that lookin at the windshields of my cars. tongue.gif

hop this helps, and if anyone needs anymore info or any questions, just gimme a shout.

-John-
