Ok....I know there is a way to change the gauge cluster lights but what about the lights that have the air control knobs and buttons on them next to the cigarette lighter. If you could change those bulbs that would be sweet. I might try to do that but I was just wondering if it has been tried by anybody... thanks!

People have done it, but it involves lots of soldering and is very tough to do from what I hear, because everything has to be very precise.

I'm sure you could use some kind of light filter and get similar results though... maybe. : )

Jon

Do you mean like painting the clearish plastic parts with transparent paint?

Doggy showed pics of his when he had changed them. He said its easy but he wouldn't tell us how he did it because charlie was going to start selling kits around that time.

i changed the color on a 7th gen a while back, which is quite similar to 6th gens. i used PIAA led bulbs in hyper blue, and basically had to build my own wiring harness for them (194 bulbs), lots of soldering and custom gluing and all that, but it turned out sweet. if your good with a soldering gun and have some free time, try it, its not super tough. good luck

To get the climate controls out, you have to follow the black cable through the firewall and disconnect it on the other side, it should be right in front of the steering wheel but inside the engine bay. The blue cable can be disconnected inside the car by climbing under the steering column and looking under the console, you can't miss where it hooks up, just disconnect those and the whole unit should come out. The only problem I ran into was with the colors lights on the vent controls, the pictures on the vent controls themselves changed colors, but the little rectangular green lights that show you which vents are blowing look to be seperate and I cant get em changed. Sorry for the novel but it drives me nuts. Anyone have a solution??
