Sup guys,
I'm currently thinking of modifications to do to the site, and I've had this idea that I'm about to describe for a while.

What I would do is add a new form to the site, under the "Manage your Account" page. This form would have a drop-down list for each category in the parts database, and the parts from that category would be listed in the drop-down box. A user would be able to select a part, and then type in how much they paid for the part itself, where they got the part from(business name and url, if applicable), and how much they paid for installation, if they had someone else install it. The form could then be submitted to the database.

Having this information would be very useful. On part detail pages, users would be able to see who has this part on their car, prices for both installation and the part itself, and where they got it. This would alleviate the need for all of the comments regarding where people got parts, how much they paid for the part, and how much they paid for installation.

What do you guys think about this? Also, would you guys actually use a feature like this? I don't want to spend a long time coding this only to find that a couple people are using it. tongue.gif

I thnik that another good idea for parts/ places to buy them would be to have a opinion section. Like if someone buys a part they can say whether the part is good/ the place they bought it from crappy to deal with... And maybe what stor/ state they bought it from Sicne not everyone lives in Cali (the land where parts run wild)

That's an excellent idea. smile.gif Thanks for the idea.

Also, would all of you guys actually use a feature like this?
