Hey fellow 6geners. I need some help.
I was wondering if anyone has problems with their hood latch not releasing? There is no resistance when I pull the hood release from inside. I checked underneath, and it seems that the cable is not attached when going into the latch assembly itself. The end of the cable is intact and has not snapped, I just can't figure out the mechanics of it and how it works? ![]() Please help. I really don't want to pull the whole bumper off yet. ![]() Thanks, Christee |

3 10mm or 12mm (can't remember what size) bolts get the latch assembly of without taking the bumper off. Then look at the assembly and you'll be able to figure it out. It's similar to the way the trottle cable attaches to the wheel on the throttle body.
don't worry, it's easy to figure out ![]() -------------------- |

Would I be able to take the latch assembly off completely just by unscrewing all of the bolts so I can look at it? The hood is "locked" into place by that piece that grabs onto the hook on the hood.
I'm trying to mentally picture this process in my head! lol |
