I have. You need to read the manufacturers installation notes - if it's a good brand you will see they tell you what radius to keep the tweet in around the midrange - make sure you do that for proper sound imaging [it def does make a difference]. Usually they will tell you you can mount it on the included grill for the 6.5" but that will be less than optimal sound. I mounted mine underneath the seatbelt low enough that it doesn't interfere with the seatbelt retractor [make sure you check that part out too ] using the flush mounts so people getting in/out of the back seats don't snag on them.
That bit about optimal radius is very important tho - mounting them on the midrange speakers will basically negate the idea of the more costly component speakers. If you mount them where I did make sure to adjust the passive crossover's tweeter decibal level down a notch so you don't only hear treble. Hope this helps EDIT: For example here are the ones I have in my rear, scroll down to file attachments and see page 5 for an example only. Your specific manufacturer and P/N should have their own specifications. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/scripts/rig...2%3Afaqs.faq_id This post has been edited by DEATH: Apr 9, 2008 - 8:39 AM -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. x2, you dont want to waste your money on component speakers and not mount them properly. Find your spacing factors first, and anything else that may become an issue. Then make the best judgment possible when you know all the factors.

I have looked at the manual suppled with speaker which are Infinity:KAPPA 65.7cs. no joy on the sound stage, Looked on web site to, So i presume that they may be the same setup as the fockfords which on there site says to put the tweeters no more then 2" apart from the woofer. I have the woofer in the stock rear location so i dont have much space to play with. 2" is not far. Sorry just looked again no more then 2" or over 7". So i will look at putting them on the door piller, but theres not a lot room behind there the tweeters are quite big.

I should see if I have a pic of mine. I installed 5 1/4" components in the rear and I made some metal brackets that place the tweeter right in front of the woofer like a component speaker, all hidden behind the stock grille, and they sound great.

2-7 in'? Cool, then you can use alot of places. I kinda like how it looked on the speaker grill, and with the way your tweets look, than you should be able just to cut a hole where ever and they'll mount up
Let us know your final decision!! -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! Damn D-Man - most impressive. D-Man's post should be a sticky LOL, oh boy, you can always count on D-Man for ridiculously hilarious posts. |

Why would you put tweeters in the back? All you need is the tweets in the front and ur good. tweeters in the back would sound like ur at a concert and with your back facing the band instead of facing them. I got the same speakers in my car BTW.

Not if your components come with adjustable decibel levels like all the good brands do. you install them per manufacturers spec then reduce the level until they are no longer individually audible - just a basic tuning procedure for any of your speakers.
Of course that entirely depends on the type of sound you're going for of course - maybe having tweets in the rear doesn't suit your setup but it does mine and others. Everytime I get around you're car I'm amazed at some of the things they decided to delete or "upgrade" on the verts. This one being one of the more understandable things [It's probably cost related] but why they wouldn't keep as much the same as possible IDK. -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them. This one being one of the more understandable things [It's probably cost related] but why they wouldn't keep as much the same as possible IDK. x2 on the first part... Back-Tweets in a Vert is also a really good idea, because we have no compression, and little (if barely any) echo points. we loose sound, so we've got to amp our sh!t to get a similar decibel level as you hatch/coupe guys. (and it sounds entirely different) And deff takes some getting used to As for that second part, What the hell man?!?! Cost isn't a good enough reason to terrorize a perfectly good car I wish they would have kept things the same... And why am i like the only vert w/o the 8 speaker setup? Why damnit!! I want more speakers!! Aaarrrggghhh!! ::rips out hair:: [/rant] -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! Damn D-Man - most impressive. The sound is good clear crisp. I listen to drum&bass, hardcore so higher tweets in the rear are plus for me. I like tuneage rather then lyric. But saying that i run a EQ so i can adjust the sound very easly for any music. |
