I just picked it up today because i thought "The Day That Never Comes" was good. I have to say the album is alot better than St.Anger. They kinda have the old Metallica feel to this cd.

I'll probably steal it from Limewire then cry about them losing money.

The new album is better than St. Anger but its still a bit of a disappointment over all. I found that the riffs are very repetitive and discordant, the solos are lackluster and the timing changes come at random and are poorly executed. The drumming for a few songs felt out of place, especially for "The Day that Never Comes" which for a slower song featured drums that were way too heavy and way too loud in the mix.

The Unforgiven III was also completely unnecessary in my mind, its a completely different song and different style than the other two and it seems to be named so just to cash in on the success of the Unforgiven.

For an album with so many positive reviews I wasn't exactly impressed with it.

What if Metallica Became Emo? laugh.gif Maaaaaaaaaaan..... There comes a time when a band has to just enjoy their money and retire already. Enough is enough. Even Star Wars was put to a F***in end..... When are these guys gonna enjoy retirement?

I am starting to think they make a new album each time they get a new hairstyle now....... I dunno why....

My lil bro just got it and had me listen to it. I kindly asked him to change the music kindasad.gif
I liked most of their stuff until st anger when they changed their bassist and decided to suck hard core. I agree that they need to stop making new songs and just keep doing tours of all their old stuff. That's what people love. All this new stuff is just crap.

Exactly how I imagined it, music style is similar as older albums but they've just ran out of ideas, I too agree Unforgiven III was just trying too hard, better than St Anger though and there is fair few songs that are okay, will just give it a few more listens.

im a die-hard Metallica fan, and im loving it....even if i agree with some of you (i know it's not like their first four).

I love the instrumental "Suicide & Redemption" and personally think the album it's WAY better than other heavy metal music that come out these days

I have to agree that this album IS better than most metal that comes out now-a-days. Metal has really gone downhill, we need someone to come and re-invent metal or else it will die as a genre of music tongue.gif
