I picked up a 96 celica st a month ago, and am looking towards the future and possibly doing a 3sgte swap. Im looking for some help though with the swap. I know there are several generations of this motor, so i was wondering which generation would be the best choice for an easy install on a 6g? Which car should the motor and tranny be from so that it will mate up nicely without much fabricaton work? And what fabrication work is needed for an install like this? What should i do about a ecu and harness? What else would i need for the swap?

I was browsing ebay and found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-94-Celi...sspagenameZWD1V

This company sells front clips with the rear diff/subframe and drive shaft. What work would need to go into making it all work on a usdm car? Thanks!

Where is the best place to buy a 4age motor? And with the 4age, what other work will need ot be done, such as wiring and ecu?

if i were you man i would read a whole lot more before you even think about a swap....read everything you can in the forced induction section an then consider....if i were you and i wasnt attatched to my car yet..i would sell the st and get a GT with a lot of miles for a lot cheaper, and it will also save you money in the long run. The GT model doesnt need any fab. work done...drop it in and go. The ECU and Harness should come with the motor/clip...if it doesnt include either or both of them i would keep looking. The swap also depends on what your lookin to get out of the car HP wise as well. 3s-gte's can crank out some serious HP where a blacktop or a silvertop your not going to be getting as much with simple bolt-on's...just do your research and read other peoples threads that have done the swap as well and learn everything you can before you jump into it...0o0o and make sure you got some extra $$$ layin around wink.gif

thats a WRC model, NICE. Only 2500 were made in the world, thats a rare find. Steep price tag at just under 5000
