YES!!! I got the engine...hehe but I am paying a butt load for it. My mechanic talked to Venus auto and they sold him a ST215 3SGTE for 2800 and they wouldn't take credit card so I got put some cash together for a money order...damn. But I am getting the engine in 2-3 days since they are really close

really close? They're in Sacramento....also, a 215, that means a 4th gen 3SGTE from a Caldina? Fascinating...also, Venus has been known to have defunct stuff occasionally. They get their stuff from Hong Kong, where they have less strict standards on vehicles than Japan does. Just make sure the turbo is in good condition and the CR is right, good luck!

That's what I was thinking when I read his post... they're definitely not really close... And Jabberwock... why would are you even thinking about registering the motor? Just drop the motor in there and find a shop that'll hook you up with the smog... |

He wants it to be legal, so he won't have the car taken away and whatnot when he gets pulled over and some cop actually knows what he's talking about busts him. I can understand it, but if you're really that paranoid, don't do it, or move outta Cali

Cops won't know what they're looking at tho... The only time he'll really get busted is if the motor was reported stolen... like the incident at a car show that happened up in San Mateo (or something) sometime last year. The cops received a complaint that a number of people that rolled in those shows had stolen motors in their cars... so the cops ran the VINs or something like that and people's cars got impounded... But as long as you're not some speed devil from hell, then you all should be cool... This is merely my opinion... but Jabberwok, if you wanna play it safe, just do what Ryan said... don't install the motor... |

not that simple. just bolt on an egr valve. it doesnt have to work. it just needs to be there for the visual. the engine will for sure pass the sniffer part of the test -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition
