Hey all, I'm have fuel problems for a 1.8 7afe not my 2.2 5sfe, anyways for some reason the fuel pump is not getting any power so the car won't start. Here's a list of what I've checked so far.

Battery
Fuses/Relays
Fuel Filter/Fuel injectors
Wire harness to the pump traced it back to the firewall.
Have a spare fuel pump but I jumped the old one and it still works but have the new pump in right now.

So far it still has the problem the wires are still good but for some reason its not sending power to the fuel pump. If you turn the ignition to the "on" position you should be able to here the fuel pump whine right ?? The only other thing that I think could be the ECU but like I've said before even if the ECU is back you should still be able to hear the fuel pump when you turn it on right ?? I'm confused and stumped.

BEFORE I took anything apart I got the car to start for a little bit but once I pressed on the gas pedal the car would stall. Any advice or tip would be great Thanks all.

you've back probed the connector ontop of the tank and verified that the pump is not getting power?

you can turn the pump on manually by jumping FP to B+ in the diagnostic connector.

I jumped the pump and it started fine then I tested the wire that connects to the pump the wire that leads back to some connectors below the driver pass side and its not getting any power but I've traced the wires and it looks fine.

I'll try to manually jump it and see if it works thanks for the response.

Your ST must be a 96+

You'd need the Toyota Handheld tester to manually run the fuel pump, or you have to give it direct power and ground from the battery to the bottom two pins on the top connector of the fuel pump. You can also check the resistance between the two bottom pins in the connector if you have an ohmmeter, there should be 0.2-3.0 ohms specified.

if you have fuel pressure then the pump is working, however you should have 40-50psi of fuel pressure.

do you have spark? do you have pulse to the injectors? did the timing belt jump?
