hey,

so when I bought my car the alarm was disabled. I've checked everywhere the alarm box could be but I cannot find it, also the remote is effed and toyota tells me it will cost around $120!!
So anyway I want to either buy a remote/keyless kit to hook up to the central locking i already have so i can just have remote central locking. will this work and will it connect to the actuators?
I found this - keyless unit

On ebay I have also found alarms for around the same price, what are your thoughts on these? and again will they work with the celica central locking?

alarm 1

alarm 2

alarm 3

as you can probly tell my budget is "as little as possible" tongue.gif but im really just wanting remote but if the alarms would fit i gues they wud be better confused.gif

thanaks in advance thumbsup.gif

Did you look under the seats?

I found my key less system under my Drivers Seat, see "http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=62466"

My key has a Button for Lock and one for Unlock

no there is nothing there. i've checked under both seats and in behind the headunit and everywhere i can think of. also the remote which has a "lock/unlock" button and a "panic" button doesnt work and im not paying for a new 1 or 2 when i can buy one of these. my brother bought a cheap remote central locking kit for his hilux (came with actuators) but i wont need them will i?

Quick way to check is to lock and unlock the doors from both sides and see if it unlocks both, If Yes the you have the Actuators.

I have an after marker Alarm (Still to be fitted) that shows how to wire up for Toyota central locking.
You should have no problems with a basic alarm with a remote.

When you lookes under the seats did you find a connection that was connected to nothing?
