If you don't know what a bov is I don't recommend you turbo your 5sfe btw bov=blow off valve.

what the hell are you talking about? nos octane booster isn't crap... not compared to a 5 min turbo/swap job laugh.gif Seriously, Witch is the lesser of two evils?

And BTW, i love how it list on the websites (like rippmods) how it only takes a few hours, or you can have your engine turbo'd within the afternoon. laugh.gif and says you can do it with typical hand tools. they make it sound as easy as changing your oil or putting on a new air filter. lol.

yea dont get involved in this unless u do a lot of research,,, a lot lot more than now. Im in the process of doing it and it's safe to say if you dont kno what a bov is then turn around. It takes a lotta work and time to successfully turbo any car, esp 5sfe

working at an autoparts store, I've seen tons of people walk in to buy a bottle of octane booster for their NA cavalier, saying they would get sooo much more power. *pukes. Obviously octane boosters have a benefit for boosted engines and I'm not denying that in any way. However, most OE NA engines wont respond to the increased octane. As far as my previous post goes, I'm commenting on the way people speak of engine swaps and turbo charging like it as easy as pouring a bottle of octane boost, in other words i'm poking fun at peoples' overly optomistic mentality. There is no doubt that both modifications can be completed in a day (40 second engine swaps on youtube speak to this) but ignoring the planning, collection of parts, and research is overlooking a major part of said mods. No need to get snappy.

like the others have said, there is no OEM turbo kit.

however, with lots of research, time, sweat, blood and tears, you CAN build your own turbo kit.

i would suggest www.howstuffworks.com to get a basic understanding of how a turbo system works, and the parts that are involved in one.
then, go here:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=23187&st=0
and learn how to build one for your 6gc.

if anything listen to presure2, i think hes been DDing his 5sfte for like three years now. goddamn lol.

oh yeah, i read this
QUOTE
1. Turboing the 7A-FE or 5S-FE - A few people have turbocharged the 7A-FE(stock engine in the USDM ST) and the 5S-FE(stock engine in the USDM GT), and most have had good results. Burien Toyota makes a kit for the 5S-FE that allows you to run up to 7 psi of boost reliably, and JGS Tools offers many of the parts needed to turbo your 7A-FE and allow you to run around 7 psi of boost, with more information and links to where to get the necessary remaining parts.

does anyone know where to get that turbo kit? or if it even exists anymore?

burien kit is no longer in production, and was way over priced for what it was.
