I ran just the header for something like a month before I got my exhaust done, and there is a sound difference, you MAY feel a little more umph on acceleration but more than likely no.. If you have a CAI or SR than it will just sound even better, CAI was my first mod and when I fired it up the first time it was like a whole new world opened up for me, when I installed the header and fired it up I think I jumped to another world. Adding an exhaust will only make things better, just don't buy a muffler that is too loud. I have a borla xr1 muffler (I think, i don't remember) and it's quite loud but there are many mufflers you can get that aren't that loud but sound good.

From what I've read, if you swap out the original 5sfe (not sure what engine you've got) with a tubular design, you should get improvements all the way around, along with better sound. If you can, get a 4-2-1 header, it'll just make you set up run that much smoother. -TC -------------------- Live your life for yourself. Don't hold back for anything or anyone.

Yea im have the 5sfe and i just got my headers in right now ....ill post up pics as soon as i can Ooh, which ones did you put in? I checked Ebay for some, and they're either for the 1.8L or they're the 4-1 for the 2.2 It's fine, I just need 5S-FE headers that are 4-2-1 that will fit (I keep reading that the MR2's won't). I'm interested in pics! -TC -------------------- Live your life for yourself. Don't hold back for anything or anyone.

The header will add sound and I haven't seen any other header for the 5sfe other than the ebay 4 to 1 header -------------------- |

Headers makes diferences!! I put ebay headers some weeks ago..
You fell the car kick in a lot sooner in RPM range, response when you hit the pedal is better. But headers is good only if you gone make update on the rest of exauths parts.....If you keep stock the rest of exhaust parts i think you will not fell nothing special. So put headers BUT alson change the rest of exhaust parts...cat-back....muffler ... 4-2-1 is the best ALL-AROUND option. |

I think the 4-2-1 is literally like saying 4-to-1. Cuz any header for the 2.2L is 4 pipes that go to one 'downpipe'. That's just my take on it

That's just my take on it Not quite... 4-2-1 is the 4 pipes from the exhaust ports on the head, collecting into pairs (2), and then each of those collecting into one. 4-1 is same thing, except they don't pair off, they simply collect into a single pipe. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl...
