2nd gen 3sgte swap.
I know everyone said to get a clip. But to be honest, IF you can find all the parts needed for the swap in a motor set DO IT. Thats what I did. I didn't even lable anything, because its such a straight forward swap. I also had some key parts left over from my 5s turbo set-up and I'll tell you this much. The 5s turbo compared to the 3s is like night and day. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer

july-to oct with a full time job social life and school
got a gen 3 3sgte and awd clip me and my buddy installed it in what we want to say is 20 days worth of work maybe sooner if i didt like to party and such.....the car is a daily driver and going strong currently check my thread or pm for questions... |

The first engine was a Rebuilded 3SGTE RC with S54, and I had problems with my old S54 so I decided to go all over again a new project. Damn it I sold a 4000kms rebuilt 3sgte RC for 1000$ .
Here my new setup, swapped by an MR2 expert, here in quebec, canada 3S-GTE MR2 GEN 3 CT20B E153 LSD, gen 3 double synchros gearbox MODS Apexi power FC NGK Powerdex Wideband FC commander 3" Downpipe Apexi Power intake HKS SSQV Blow off valve Exedy clutch Custom catback 3" exhaust Borla PROXS 3" FM intercooler Polyurethane Bushing kit all under the car NGK wires Much more agressive than my 3SGTE RC with CT26, around 320whp on stock CT20B turbo This post has been edited by domyz: Oct 16, 2009 - 11:14 PM |

My car originally started out as a 1995 Toyota Celica ST (7AFE, Automatic Transmission). I know have a 4AGE 20v Silvertop powered Celica. Also changed the transmission to a 5 speed manual. My engine is stock for the moment with only an Aftermarket 3" Air Filter, Greddy Cat-Back Exhaust, and No Catalytic Converter. I purchased the Front Clip from Jarco for roughly $1000 shipped from GA to FL. The auto to manual pieces were sourced from TAP Recycling and totaled $250. I had a shop do the actual install of the motor and wiring; I sourced all information needed to perform the swap: Toyota Repair Manual(s) and Toyota Wiring Diagrams, 4AGE 20v ECU Pin-Outs, etc. I also have various part numbers regarding maintence pieces (timing belt, water pump, distributor, etc.) for the 4AGE 20v. The performance is a much needed boost from an automatic ST Celica. Although I believe the engine is not running at its full potential at the moment. I know that there is a fuel issue with my engine, I'm running lean in the upper RPM's. I believe that if I run higher octane fuel and use a fuel controller (S-AFC) it will correct some of the power problems. Other than that, I've been running the 4AGE 20v with no engine problems whatsoever. Its is definitely a smooth revving engine and has potential that is just waiting to be unleashed. hey im doing the same swap can u give me ecu advise cas the third clip is gone and the maf sensors clips cut also soo i need some advise thanks |

1994 celica st, 2nd gen JDM 3sgte, 3" downpipe, 3" exhaust, spearco fmic, TRD pressure plate, 255 lph walbro fuel pump. Also wondering for the st where the engine mount was different? some said rear others said passenger side of the engine. wondering if it would also work with a 5sfe for temporary use just to get the car going. |
