Hi guys I'm new in here. I drive an 05 Civic (EM2) But as soon as that's paid off I'm planning on picking up one of these cars. I have a 7th gen in the garage but I like the older ones better, 94-99 I believe so in other words, the 6th gen. I have a few questions though. I know that the MR2 engine is swappable right? (3SGTE) Also, is it just a straight drop in? What about motor mounts? I noticed a guy here converted his 6th gen to AWD, where do I get all the parts and how much does it run for? As far as converting EXTERIOR to GT4 look, how much does that run for and is it just all bolt in body panels and bumpers? Anyway Im looking forward to getting this car. In the meantime this is my EM2 until I sell it to get a 6th gen celica.

I used to own an EM2. The mr2 3sgte will need some slight modifications to make it fit, but any 3sgte's found in celicas like the st165 185 205 will drop right in.

To be honest, I wished I still had my em2 for the obvious reason. Its newer.

If you really want a 3sgte celica with the jdm gt-four front end buy mine. Check the for sale section.

Other then that, Welcome to the site.

At least you'll be used to a sluggish engine. biggrin.gif Even though the design is a bit old, I still love it, inside and out.

Well I loved the civic for a DD. But when I had the factory 5sfe motor it was torquey. Fun, but nothing up top. Then I went with a 3sgte swap. I LOVE IT!!!! But I had plans for ym Em2. I was going to go with the K24 swap and boost it. But then a car accident happened. So now I have a gt-four front end 6gc with a beastly 3sgte swap with the e153 LSD trans. Gotta love it. The interior wraps around you the curves of the body is just sexy. But then again its a 15 year old car. I'm just stuck dumping more and more money into her. As much as I love the celica, the things I've done to her is not original, because if you haven't noticed everyone is going for the gt-four front end and a 3s swap.

Now how many em2's have the k24 turbo? Not a lot. But then there are a lot going with the Dezod kit.

Thats true. You know, I trust everything your saying because your really pursuadable with the way you speak, I know you had an EM2 just by the way you talk about it. What I'm saying is though, my car is auto because it was a hand me down car. YES I can save for a manual swap but why waste more money? I'd rather sell it and get the celica already stick. I like the looks of this car more than the civic in my opinion. Did you convert yours to AWD as well ? Or is it still FWD. Because I was wondering how much converting to AWD would run me.

I am using the e153 lsd transmission FWD. If it was AWD I would not be selling it for only 6 grand. Trust me. I believe the AWD conversion with your own labor will run you close to $10,000. Not worth it IMO.

You're right about the auto to manual swap. Besides you don't want the manual trans for the D17 motor. The synchros suck butt hole. They don't hold for crap. When I had my EM2 I went through 2 transmission and a rebuild and they still sucked. Trust me, I don't even beat on my cars. I don't even beat on my 3s swap. I baby this thing.

I'm just saying, keep in mind when you have enough money for my car, because you live in Illinois. Thats pretty close to MN. Worth the drive IMO. Just wish I could sell her before snow hits.
