This morning I was going to my job, it was dark and a bit foggy, coming up to a roundabout and I saw a car also coming up to the roundabout.
I had plenty of time to get in front of the car, but I didn't see the excevator that was driving in front of the other car!! mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

The wheel of the excevator hit me on the left front side, before my wheel and wrecked the whole fender, dented the bumper and dislodged the turn indicator and the hood has shifted a few millimeters to the right 'cause of the hit.

Fortunately my JDM lowbeam headlight did survive it. bowdown.gif

So after just a few weeks of pleasure of my newly painted car it's going back to the bodyshop. frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif

I'll try to make a few pics tomorrow when I go to the bodyshop.

I didn't have time to get to the bodyshop to get the pics, maybe later this week.

When I went to a bodyshop close to my workplace to get a estimate they said it would be 1500-1600 euro.
I thought that was a bit much for only replacing the fender and repairing the bumper.

So I went to the bodyshop that repainted my car and there they said it would more like 600-800.

I didn't pass any car, it was a single lane roundabout.

I went to de bodyshop today and heard that it would take 800 euro to get the damage fixed.

Luckily only the side was damaged and there is a small dent in the bumper, but they can fix that by heating the area and tapping it back in shape. also the hood was shifted, but it wasn't a big problem.

As seen from the angle of impact.

Seen from above. The side is all the way to the enginecompartment dented, but the lowbeam is alright, only the notch that falls in the sidepanel is broken.

Dude, when I got in a wreck with my car, it was closer to the headlight on the passenger side. I got a scratch on my projector and knocked the projector tabs off and sent it into my engine bay. Those glass projectors are amazingly tough! I glued that mess on! But I want to buy another one. Gorilla glue can be messy. LOL

Geetje, you missed the Dutch.

You mean the soccergame? I saw the first half and then I couldn't be bothered with it. It was to boring.

If it was an f1 race, an ALMS or even LMS race you can wake me up in the middle of the night for it.

The car is probably fixed by thursday. They had to order a new fender and repair the damage on the car. thumbsup.gif

Well, she's back!! thumbsup.gif

I have to bring it later back 'coz when they installed the fender it scraped the paint of the a-pillar.
Also the mechanic couldn't find a clear lens for the bumper indicator. He said they were only available in amber.
He said the supplier of the fender had tried all day to find some. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
I didn't remember the site where I got them from, so tomorrow I'll call him to give him the adress of protocast.

A few pics of the repaired damage.

The turn light is getting a new lens which is cracked at the right corner, also the tab which holds the light in place on the left is broken on the unit.

on the left top corner where the fender and a-pillar meet there are a few scratches when they installed the fender.

This is a new fender which has been painted.

Only, this morning I saw a new problem. When they fixed the fender the lowbeam unit was removed.
When they mounted it again they forgot to put the accentlight back in and a spring to clamp the xenon bulb is missing.
I've fixed the accentlight, but I can't get the xenon bulb to stay firmly in de unit. With a bit of tape I hope it will stay in the unit, tomorrow I'll go to the bodyshop to tell them they didn't do a good job and to fix it. mad.gif mad.gif
