Good morning!
I was hoping we had a legal guru on the forums. Its my understanding that we can import Celicas once they become historic vehicles (20 years?) and as of next year the 1994 will be historic? Ive seen the cars in Japan and England going for about 6 grand, and I believe itll cost about that much to import it, so a 12 grand total package. Any relevant info or places I can do my own homework would be greatly appreciated. -Neff |

Hah, you wish!
But in all seriousness though, I wish the US would allow the ST205 to be brought in sooner, as it's a flippin' PAIN to find parts at a decent price. At the same time though, I like the fact that I have a unique car around town. I've only seen one ST205 GT-Four in town, and I'm still searching the net to find out who it is so that I can collaborate about parts with the owner. |

ST205's may not be legal quite yet but as of January 1st, 2014.... Bring on the fully legal R32's.

Isn't that name verboten on this site ? (jk).
I found it funny that when I was searching for an inspection site for my JDM car (including the insurance company). The majority of garages that I called up asking whether they'd inspect a JDM car automatically assumed that I had bought a Skyline. Every time this happened, they mentioned "Skyline" in a demeaning way. Edit: Here's a random vid including a ST205 and R32 YouTube Vid: R35 GTR vs ST205 Celica 20120708 Running Fight Class 1 (Note: Celica gets whooped!) ST205 vs R35 ^^ haha
I watched all 7 laps of the race. The only reason the R35 stayed ahead was that single straight. The celica got stuffed in every corner on that track.. Reminds me of trackdays on my bike, the guys on the 1000's would blast the straights but couldn't keep corner speed so I'd pass them mid track but then get blown away again on the straight and get stuffed again when the turns come..frustrating.. Anyway..that was way off topic haha -------------------- |
