$2 flat I saw a few nights ago. You know if they just kept it there and steady for a year or so I wouldn't care if they pocketed the extra $$$ they might get from not letting it go down further. It hasn't been this cheap in years.

Then again consider the difference in transpo costs - you all up in the mountains nowhere near a refinery vs our flat land with refineries everywhere - it makes sense in that light.

^ EXACTLY. I bet after the election it levels out or goes back up again. I don't think it's a coincidence that OPEC is going to cut production starting in November.

The lowering of gas prices had to do with our economy. Exporters didn't want to confide in the USA and help for the bailout, so somehow they are pocketing the extra which is allowing them to lower gas prices because it is all profit. I read about it although the way I explained it doesn't make much sense, but that is basically what they said.

If you ask me, these things have to do with what has happened not publicly associated with gas, but other things, or what is happening right now. We are hurting they say and we see people filing bankruptcy. We also see the GOVERNMENT buying out places as well. I personally feel this is like a fear that has spread about making others cash out, yet in some ways they are making it manageable for us to still continue on, still making it, while we look for a way out. Not entirely realizing we are actually ok. High Gas prices did affect our business at my last job, but if it were like this right now, we would be doing ok again. Our boss shut the store down, because he couldn't manage his own money and spent as fast as he got. Now I am loopy, and I don't know why I am continuing to talk. Ugh.......

I hate you guys (not literally). $3/gal for my plus at Chevron. But! I am content with that. No more than $3.20 please.

you gotta love americans crying about fuel prices, this year with the earlier exchange rates when the pound sterling was strong against the dollar, the fuel prices were at their highest also, we as in the UK and Ireland were paying £1.29 per LITRE that equates at the time it was over $2 to the pound

So do your maths

1 Litre £1.29 ($2.58) @$2 per £1 for arguments sake but i do remember it going as high as $2.10 this year
1 Gallon (UK 4.55 litres) £5.87 ($11.74)

THATS ELEVEN DOLLARS SEVENTY FOUR CENTS PER GALLON PEOPLE we were getting shafted for fuel, it was costing me £102 to fill the Carlos Sainz at that time so we were truly out of pocket compared to you guys across the pond
