Based upon the crap that goes down in this here town, I can honestly say I fed up with this $#!T. I don't want to get sent to prison for killing someone, so eventually I am going to have to leave. What's your city like? IS it chill? Random_Stranger needs a new home, and is looking for information for that perfect place. This place blows and usually so do most of the towns from Fresno to Lancaster. Where to? Is Cali still cool? Or would another state be better? Colorado seems chill, but I hates snow.

I live in Hamilton, "the steel city" Ontario.
Its super chill but super ****, and its definitely not a place where I want be and I would not suggest moving here or visiting here or even acknowledging its existence. There's few economic opportunities and the city is constantly growing with working class people looking to get a job in the dying manufacturing industry. However it does have a university and a fairly decent college. But really its just a place to live and commute to burlington, oakville and toronto where all the real economic opportunities are. I just came out of "sociology of work" and I'm sleep deprived, to put what I said into some kind of context. -------------------- (\__/) (='.'=) This is bunny. You guys don't have crime nearly as bad as most places of California, the women are attractive, people are nice (even though most Americans would think they are stuck up), and it seems beautiful there. The only thing I am scared of is those silly laws you guys have. To leave Cali and go there, would almost seem no different than moving up north of Cali for the same thing. Fresno seems bad Akirad. I went there with my friend for his lil sister's skating competitions and that place reminded me of what my town is becoming. The funny part is, I seen all these streets named after places in the LA County, and I we were lost, right? Then I was like "Foo, if I see Los Angeles St or anything like that with Los Angeles in it, I am going to $#!T myself laughing". Sure enough here it comes and he said "You want me to tell you a joke and feed you some Exlax now or later?" LOL This place is the armpit of Cali. I only like it for the fact that we are so close to everything, but not a day goes by where I say "GOD! I hate this town!". No offense to anyone who likes this, but because of my location, I HATE Mexican Music and Country music! GAWD! And I hate that generic radio alternative rock they play on the radio....... My town is home to all stereotypes, and though not everyone is actually a stereotype, the majority is. This drives me nuts! So surprised I still got all my teeth because I constantly grind them as I am out and about. ARGH!!!!! I am surprised I am not a serial killer yet. -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204

Here where I live in Davenport is pretty cool. Its quiet, but not too quiet. The ages of people go from retired to young people just starting out on life. Its "close" to everything within 20 miles, what I mean is like whatever you need the furthest you'd have to go is about 20 miles.
It is on the other side of the nation for you though... -------------------- ◊◊◊ My F/S Thread! ◊◊◊

Hey guy, this thread is sucks.
What do you need to know about Naples? It's where old people go to die. For some reason, "the light" leads them here and they all collectively clog up our roads doing 20 under on their way to that yonder place. |

The only thing I am scared of is those silly laws you guys have. To leave Cali and go there, would almost seem no different than moving up north of Cali for the same thing. Well probably not, comparing Cali to Canada are different. I think you could only really compare inside of the country. Like for part of Canada, Hamilton is rough. Not as rough as say some of the east coast (higher unemployment, 15.4% for Newfoundland being the highest. 9.8% being New Brunswick. 2004 Census.) but its just what I consider to be a boring place, that although is becoming large in size does not deal in larger business. I don't think you can compare it though to California because you would have to compare the ideals of both nations. Though it is a nice looking city in some places, has lower crime and might have "friendlier" people, its very Left on the political spectrum as a city, mostly due to the failing steel industry (which the city is known for and was the major source of income up until about 20 years ago) and the need for social welfare for those who cannot find a job or do not have the education also it's population is growing not because of reproduction but because of immigration and cheaper housing. I don't consider this a bad thing, since I am super-left and an advocate of multiculturalism but it might take some time adjusting to multiculturalism compared to the melting-pot. I probably went way too in-depth, but it pertains to my area of study and I have a lot of source work on this kind of stuff. Go Sociology Go. Rah Rah Rah. Etc. Also, what silly laws? The going over 50km/h is street racing or the fact that its legal to pirate stuff if you use it only for home use (they're both equally silly in context) -------------------- (\__/) (='.'=) This is bunny. Try Oil City, LA. It's between Vivian (slightly bigger, has a whole lot more drugs, hops and everything, is more toward the top of the northwestern corner of 'the boot state') and shreveport/bossier (way bigger, better, has a whole lot more **** to do and is the southermost of the three cities). Everyone at my highschool refers to Louisiana as the stinky armpit of the 50 states. It's so nasty, but you can find something good in it. All the old people in vivian are so hopped up on either crystal meth or Jesus, so many girls my age have babies of their own, the little chirldren will curse you out quicker than you can say hello.
Oil City is an uneventful little pit so small that if you hocked a loogie on a minature model of the city, you would take out the whole town. And of course, Shreveport/Bossier has everything, nice people, all the restaurants, places to go have fun, stores, office buildings (thats more downtown shreveport). Haha, the area I live in is such a ****hole, but my parents decided NOT not move to Arkansas when I was 10 so I'm stuck until I get in debt with a student loan for college -------------------- If knowledge is the key then idiots are locked out

Houston is cool. I like my city. I enjoy it here. Never cold, pretty laxed laws, and as long as you move to the right neighboorhood, then it's a great place. everything is close, and the city is built on 2 circles with multiple freeways going inbetween so it's really easy to navigate.
IDK... I like it, but it may not be for everyone. Oh, have you ever seen that episode of family guy where they goto texas, and brian buys a bottle of jack daniels... and the cleark gives him his "free" 6-shooter and say's its state law to give a gun free with every purchase of a bottle of booze? It's kinda like that EDIT: we're working on a 3rd circle right now to expand us across what used to be 6-7 different citys, and then houston will anex it all. I live in Hawaiian Gardens..a horrible, two street city that has crappy gang violence everyday. My sister's friend got stabbed/killed the other day and she can make a yearbook of people who have either been shot/stabbed/killed/impregnated by the age of 20. This place sucks. Everyday its sirens and crap. The city is seriously two major streets, Carson St. and Norwalk Blvd. Cerritos is such a chill, nice little city compared to HG and its only a couple miles up another street. WOMP WOMP.
Plus, people keep stealing my neighbor's bikes. They go inside the house for a couple of mintues and one of em will missing. WTF. Sad stuff. -------------------- Pandelica 2.0 in progress. |
