there's alot of stuff i wanna do to my car!!.. 1st of all.. the OEM skirt i bought a month n a half ago.. its sitting in my kitchen now collecting dust.. i've got all the clips n screws.. i've even bought the drill bits.. (i dont have a drill.. but i can borrow 1) after reading azian's brilliant beyond brilliant how tos.. it seems real simple.. i want to attempt to do it myself.. the problem's i need help.. more like tools.. i'm a student.. there's no point in me buying all the stuff like jack stands.. power drill.. etc etc.. just used it once.. you know what i mean.. btw i'm currently living in FLAGSTAFf.. 7000ft above sea lvl.. things ere are expensive!!.. i tried driving around my area.. asking for quotes for the installation of the skirt.. but OMG.. the prices are ridiculous.. there's this place that offers to install my skirt for $100 out the door.. the problem's i dont really trust them.. AND when i had my sound system done to my car.. OMG.. when i got back my car.. OMG.. disaster.. my tweeter covers were broken.. a lot of plastic tabs were broken.. just like a couple of days ago.. i sent my car into sum workshop to get my tires swapped.. when i got my car back.. my rear strut bar was all scratched.. i got the bar for less than a month ago.. i was pretty pissed.. i assumed that the guy just dragged the rims along my strut bcoz i had placed 2 rims on top of the back seat.. from now on.. i will never ever let some one work on my car unless i'm present!!..
anyhu.. i've done some stuff to my car.. like customize the dodge neon front strut bar to fit my celica.. changing my rear rotors.. removing my front bumper to install my missing rubber rings.. all by borrowing tools n by myself.. but this skirt thingy's perplexing me!!.. i want to do this.. the way i want it to be!!.. 2nd.. i bought a keyless entry from ebay like 2months ago.. its still siting in my trunk.. collecting dust.. i had a friend's friend helped me once with it.. he worked on it half way.. i was helping.. the unit does work.. but he didnt finish it.. so now i'm stuck.. he told he would have it done for me but till now no news from him.. 2months and counting.. i think he's avoiding me!!.. i'm actually paying him to do.. anyhu.. i want to be more hands on with my car.. so i know what's going on.. i'm proud to say that i've a car that's almost complete/perfect to me.. perfect as in.. there's no missing pieces/screws/bolts.. car runs really smooth!!.. no weird noises.. fun car to drive and really nice to look at!!.. n i'm pretty proud of it.. but this time.. i'm not sure!!.. i need help/suggestions!!.. any1?? thanks for reading!!.. |

Sorry about your luck man. Yeah, I actually read all that. It seems to me that (if you don't mind me speaking on behalf of my own experiences and comparing them to where you are), you let obstacles get in your way too easily. You are impatient. You want to hurry up and get things done. This is a lesson that you should learn from experience. Get friends who will help you because they want to learn as well, or have the experience. Not ones who are doing it just to charge you, because friends do things for each other and together (not like that you pervs!).
It know it takes time, but you just need to find guys who have experience or read up and do it yourself. Trust me, you will be and feel more confident once you do. Even if not 100% and even though you will get angry or frustrated to the point you can spit blood........ Once all is said and done, and you wash that car...... Standing in the driveway admiring your work until the sunsets........ You will feel accomplished! I am a Student as of August (until I get certified and work staring Summer) and lost my job back in June, ok. Had to move back home and still managing to pay mom rent (a lil less now but I still help her out) and get stuff done to my car. It just takes time. tools always come in handy. they are never a wast of money. they are investment. Of course don go crazy. Stop buying things to collect dust. Unless of course they are so rare, you wont see them again.

Technically, if it's sitting in your trunk it won't collect much dust.
